my first experience travelling alone was in Travemünde. i was only staying for a few days in a Small Apartment. I spend in those 4 days around 200-250€ (including the apartment). My girlfriend also visited me for a day. I had a really nice walk with surprisingly good weather. the apartment was near the train station and the beach also near by (maximum 5 minutes for both). great opportunity to buy groceries and some small souvenirs. A lot of cafes that I sadly didn’t get to try all of them. I wouldn’t recommend the small pool from the hotel nearby. I would definitely do it again!

I recommend this place to cool down while you’re backpacking. Thats what my friend and i did. Its not that busy, but also not boring. I dont know how it is in the winter, but the summer is BEAUTIFUL!!
Posted: December 15, 2025I felt safe during my time and I currently live and study here, but I wouldn’t recommend Berlin to anyone who isn’t really big on clubbing and partying because otherwise it’s a boring city and the weather doesn’t help

This little city was really charming. I really liked the market and the heart warming cakes. I’ve been welcomed freely by a woman thanks to “Couchsurfing” who was used to travel alone too. I was surprised by her big heart. We talked a lot that night, she gave me confidence with only few words. She prepared me food in advance and offered me a lunch for the next day (even if I was leaving this exact day). She even payed the drink… her kindness was melting my heart. I asked her why did she do all those things for me, and she answered “If only you could know what people gave to me, I have to return the favour.”
Posted: October 28, 2025Experienced: March, 2025It does feel safe. And berlin is not as expensive as I thought, much and more is affordable here and the quality at which food gets sold is very much richer than the price. Overall experience has been excellent.

Frankfurt has a very bad reputation, but is not at all unsafe. There is some areas around Hauptbahnhof and Konstablerwache where men might do catcalling but it's limited to that. Don't carry things open or leave your bags alone cause this is a big city and like everywhere else- pickpocketers are all around.

You have to be careful about your stuff and yourself. You can never be careful enough girl as long as you are alive you are safe ❤️. We women anything can happen to us no matter where we are. Just be attentive.
Posted: January 10, 2026Generally very safe in the 5 years I‘ve lived here. If I‘m walking by myself in the dark however I won‘t listen to music and pay attention to my surroundings more. Don‘t linger around the central station at night time, junkies on crack can be quite scary.

I think berlin is quite safe. You have to surround yourself with the wrong people to really be at risk of crime. Of course when you forget your things in the train or somewhere they will be stolen and it’s unlikely that you will get it back but it’s still happens sometimes.some people are really genuine.
Posted: January 6, 2026I feel very safe in the city. During the day you can go to all areas of interest and it’s perfectly fine. It’s a city that’s very calm and quiet at night, especially along the fjord. But people generally mind their business. Just avoid the area called Garden, especially at night

Hey there💫 I‘m Jette and I study psychology in Germany. I really like solo travelling and makeing spontaneous trips. In my Erasmus in Porto, Portugal I had the opportunity to meet wonderful inspiring new souls from all over the world. That's why l'm now on travelladies. I love to wander around the city, immerse myself in the local culture and just to get in touch with new people🌀
