It's more or less safe but walking around in the wrong places at night is not advisable. It's a bigger city and there's a lot of drugs being used in broad daylight especially near the main station. During the day there's not really anything to worry about, I've never really felt unsafe in Frankfurt.

Altrip is a small village. Here everyone knows each other, which certainly makes it safe. Altrip is somewhat secluded but very lively; there are many places to eat, we have several lakes nearby, and in the summer we celebrate some concerts and events in the forest park. There are many nice people, and generally, everyone is very helpful. We have two larger cities near us: Ludwigshafen and Mannheim. As for my rating of public transportation, it relates to their punctuality. Sometimes they arrive 20 minutes early or 3 hours late or not at all. Otherwise, you are always very mobile and can reach everything quickly if you want to go to Ludwigshafen or Mannheim.
Posted: May 20, 2025Living in Dresden has been a mostly positive and safe experience for me. I’ve traveled across the city at all hours early mornings, late nights, and even midnight and have always felt secure using public transport or walking around. The city is well-connected and peaceful, and I’ve enjoyed exploring it without much concern for safety. However, like anywhere, not everything is perfect. There are occasional encounters with individuals who hold extremist views, which can be uncomfortable. But overall, I’ve had a great time living here and felt safe in my day-to-day life.

Cottbus is a pretty small city and by night there is barely anyone out. As long as you stay in the center, you're fine. You should not go to Sandow and stay aware of your surroundings but thats it. I go out with friends often and nothing ever happened more than some drunk teenagers saying smth to us. I wouldnt really recommend going party tho. Loads of creepy old men.
Posted: May 19, 2025It's a small town 15km away from Aalen. With around 3000 inhabitants, some cows few meters away, so really small and save even by night. But even Aalen is not that big, so you can feel very safe there:)

Hamburg is a beatiful City I can always eecommend going there. But I would recommend not going outside by yourself at night especially in the areas around the Hbf. The most fun thing we did was going into a local jazz club it was amazing. Hamburg can be a bit more expensive especially if you want to try some of the restaurants there with really great cusuines or when you go second hand shopping which Hamburg has alot of. Traveling around the city is really easy with the Germany Ticket.
