Depends where you are, there are pretty safe areas where lots of people are around and areas i would avoid at night as a woman (such as Kotti) All in all it is safe, if you take care of yourself and be aware of your surrounding especially at night :)
Posted: August 31, 2025I’ve lived there for a few years. Overall it’s quite safe compared to bigger cities in Germany. However, especially at night and on trains, I have been harassed by strangers a few times. Especially during the Oktoberfest time there are many drunk men on the trains. Very unsafe.
Posted: August 31, 2025i would give germany a 60 percent safety rating. it always depends on how the areas are socially structured and managed. i think that can be the case in any country, because there will be precarious or disadvantaged areas everywhere. you should be prepared to be mostly safe, but listen to your gut feeling about whether the locations are right for you individually. i personally feel safe everywhere. it‘s no different than any other country.
Posted: August 31, 2025It depends on where you are. There are places where it's super safe and others where I tend to be more careful. But I've been here all my life and nothing has happened to me here. You just have to know what places not to go when it's dark...
Posted: August 31, 2025Berlin is a pretty safe city. There are some weird people, but there are ALWAYS other people who offer help and comfort. I would recomend staying in a group, if you feel uncomforteble. Berlin is a nice place to conect to nice people

Munich is a beautiful city and felt so good and warm (spiritually and physically) I stayed two nights in a hotel very close to the train station which made transportation so much easier from the airport and to other cities. City central is really pretty with parks. I definitely recommend having picnics with coffee and pastries or takeout food in close parks. I went to popular landmarks because it was my first time so there is a lot I had missed out on but I can recommend Allianz Stadium and BMW Museum. Both was amazing if you are into it And if you are not you can go to near mountains or lakes for hiking or swimming. I had only two days in Munich so I couldn't experience them this time. But I can't wait to go there and have lots of fun memories! ps. pls pls pretty pls recommend me places for food and coffee/tea and pastries or anything. I'll try to have as much as I can next time
