Is Germany Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Germany is generally a very safe destination for solo female travelers. The crime rate is low and local citizens are typically courteous and helpful. Public transportation, including trains and busses, is widely available and secure. Nevertheless, previously would be wise to respect general safety guidelines as in any other place, such as avoiding isolated areas late at night and being aware of your belongings. I went to Bonn to visit a friend of mine and it was an amazing experience. The river was so nearby and with the train Cologne was only an hour. I also liked Koblenz and I recommend to everyone. Just go and explore

Berlin, Group travel

Berlin was fun. We didn’t get in to Berghain (lol) but we did our own tour of the city and the vibes were great. Public transportation is very easy and convenient. Very diverse food options. Great rave venues - I would love to go back and let loose again!

Mainz

I am feeling pretty safe, at night I try to avoid sketchy areas like Central Station or Münsterplatz. I don’t recommend staying in students doorms, there have been several assaults targeting women.

Detmold

A relatively large number of homeless people around, some of whom are very pushy and begging. Many drug addicts who gather in the city all day. Regular riots - a lot of police presence.

Aachen

It’s usually really safe here. I’ve been living in Aachen for five years and go everywhere on my own, even at night. But there are a few areas where you feel a little uneasy. There are a relatively large number of drug addicts in Aachen. Usually, they’re only a danger to themselves, but things can get unpleasant when they ask for money, don’t get any, and start getting loud. Try to avoid the “Kaiserplatz” at night. Also, the “Ponte” is sort of Aachen’s nightlife street (don’t expect parties,...

Braunschweig

Braunschweig is a very safe city. By day in my opinion you will not feel uncomfortable at any place. At night some places can be a bit scarry like Bohlweg, Hauptbahnhof, Prinzenpark or Bruchstraße. But in total it's a cute citty with a lot of opportunities. 😊
