The safe level depends on the quarter you are in. St. Pauli, St. Georg, Harburg are not great places when you are alone at night. But public transport is good and safe. Be on guard, and everything is okay. I have lived here for three years and due to my job I am going often after midnight home and never happened something to me. I'm am not more worried than I any other city.

I think it is very safe, of course this depends if it is in the night or daytime. You have to be careful in some areas as e.g. walking alone at night near Reeperbahn -but I have also done it, men can be really exhausting though.
Posted: February 22, 2025hamburg is a nice and kind of historic city. the most people are absolutely awesome and friendly. stay in safe areas and you will be okay at any time. I personally don’t go out after 12am but that’s just my way of making sure I’m safe
Posted: February 8, 2025There are some places where women shouldn’t go at night. But otherwise I really don’t know. Nothing ever happened to me, but I’ve heard a few things they make me worrying going out alone, or at night. The nightlife in Hamburg is very much alive

I don’t really know if I answered correctly to the questions here because in Hamburg as in all of Germany it is relatively safe in comparison to a lot of other countries. But I guess like everywhere it is not completely safe to walk around at night drunk for women, I have some stories of girlfriends that were harassed and I also sometimes experienced sexual harassment some times but I think I handle it well because I am very confident. In general though I think Hamburg is a great place and there are a lot of people that would help you of someone saw any kind of harassment here. That’s why I love this city. Most people here have a good heart ❤️

Hamburg is a surprisingly safe city, never felt so safe walking around during night. OF COURSE it is a city, so avoids the central station and Red light district if you are alone. Besides that, never had any problems.
Posted: January 21, 2025very safe city i love it. you can walk around as a woman also in the night. there are a few streets where you don’t should go but in a whole it’s a very safe city. beautiful with a lot of nice food spots
Posted: January 20, 2025Safety in Hamburg differs from district to district. Regarding partying/clubbing I personally like to go to Sternschanze because one can visits different bars with a nice crowd. Reeperbahn however can be very uncomfortable for women because of all the drunk people (especially men). Also techno clubs (not all but most) tend to be safer than other clubs (e.g at Reeperbahn) Unfortunately Hamburg does not offer free Flinta* taxis, like e.g Freiburg or other cities do at night/evening.
Posted: January 19, 2025I would say the city is overall pretty safe (coming from Spain, I feel more safe here in Hamburg). It can be a bit scary when you go to the central station, since there are a lot of drug addicts, but they are usually not aggressive or violent towards people (sometimes between them, though). I would avoid also the station of Harburg (south of Hamburg) because there is nothing interesting there and it can be more unsafe. I would avoid taking a hostel or hotel in the Reeperbahn because it is the party street and it’s decadent, but the rest of the city is pretty safe, even at night.
Posted: January 19, 2025I feel safe in Hamburg. I wouldn’t say that it’s absolutely safe and a woman haven’t to worried at all, but I don’t think that there is any place in the world we could say that. In proportion to other city’s I lived or visited I think Hamburg is in the upper third if we talk about safety for women.

I felt safe, i just had to watch out on the streets with clubs. I would recommend going to Kunsthalle museum and if you like going out then Reeperbahn. My restaurant recommendation is block house. I stayed at my sister’s so she drove me around but there is local bus and a train.
Posted: January 1, 2025We were in Hamburg. The city has many activities. Like take a boat trip. I was at the musical "Harry Potter and the cursed chıld". The city library is huge. In the basement, used/old books, audio books, films and games are sold at a reasonable price.

Hi Girls❣️ I am an Italian girl, I have been living in Hamburg for almost two years, I am here to do a PhD in Nanotechnology. I like to travel, talk, create moments and stories to tell. I like to travel both alone and in company. I am very open-minded, and for me the important thing is that people are happy and in harmony. I like nature and long walks, trying local food and knowing the history of places. I support the LGBTQ+ community and all rights for women. It is very important to me that women feel safe, anywhere, anytime.
