I think Hamburg is safe beside the main train station and places with many people around. There are many beautiful places to visit or stay. For myself, I live here, and I feel comfortable around here.
Posted: April 21, 2025It highly depends on where you are - the main train station is horrible, but the further away you get, the better it gets. For visiting I would advise to get away from hotels that are on the Reeperbahn, it's the party corner. Very loud and a lot of drunk men.
Posted: April 15, 2025I feel very safe in Hamburg during the day, but at night, like most big cities, I wouldn't want to walk alone in less frequented districts. But I've never been robbed or harassed and during the day never worried that anything bad would happen to me.

I personally have always felt safe In Hamburg. Night life is a bit active and might be a bit scary sometimes but nothing bad has ever happened to me there. Public transport is good, sometimes there might be some weird and scary people but overall nothing inappropriate

If you know where not to go you are completely safe I would say! I never lived anywhere else and know Hamburg like my purse, it never happens anything to me or close friends or family! You just need to stay away from certain places that’s all:)

It very much depends on where in the city you are. Overall I feel very safe in my day to day life. Of course as a woman walking home after dark I am a bit more alert but still don't feel super unsafe. Certain areas should be avoided at certain times of the day but overall Hamburg is not a city where you have to worry about your safety in my opinion.
Posted: April 2, 2025Hamburg feels pretty safe for women, but like in any big city, you’ve got to stay a bit aware. Public transport is totally fine, and most areas are chill, even at night, though spots like the Reeperbahn can get sketchy with all the drunk people. Catcalling is definitely a thing—way too much, honestly—but I’ve never felt in real danger. Violent crime isn’t a huge problem, but tampering with drinks in clubs is something to watch out for. Overall, as long as you use common sense, Hamburg is a good place to be as a woman.
Posted: March 31, 2025All in all, Hamburg is a very safe place. However, as anywhere in the world, being a woman (or non-binary, transgender, just in general not-hetero-male person) it is possible to hearing some comments or being harrassed, especially by cis-men in the evenings or at night. So sometimes that feels a bit annoying or unsafe, but usually people around you are alert and step in or police will be there if anything major happens.
Posted: March 27, 2025Around the Main Station it can get a bit creepy at night. But if you are with a Group or simply trust your gut feeling I would say you are good! Of course its always still important to stay careful and keep your eyes open as a solo female traveler:)
Posted: March 25, 2025Generally pretty safe, especially during the day. At night there can be quite a few sketchy areas, especially around the central train station and Reeperbahn. Been living here for close to two years and never been harassed, but definitely felt a bit unsafe at night around the areas I mentioned.

I felt safe, i just had to watch out on the streets with clubs. I would recommend going to Kunsthalle museum and if you like going out then Reeperbahn. My restaurant recommendation is block house. I stayed at my sister’s so she drove me around but there is local bus and a train.
Posted: January 1, 2025We were in Hamburg. The city has many activities. Like take a boat trip. I was at the musical "Harry Potter and the cursed chıld". The city library is huge. In the basement, used/old books, audio books, films and games are sold at a reasonable price.

Hi, I‘m Emily! I’ve been on holidays with my parents since I was a little girl. When I got older I started traveling with friends. The first time I traveled further away without my parents was truly eye opening for me. I finally felt free and self-determined. I enjoyed planning my trips, organizing what was needed and being in charge of myself, finally listening to what my soul was telling me and putting it into action. That’s when I decided to try solo-traveling. I‘ll begin my very first solo trip in February and will travel through Southeast Asia for approximately 4 months. If anybody would like to meet up or travel together for a bit, feel free to message me! 💕 Meeting new people along the way is actually one of the things I’m most excited about during this upcoming trip (coming from a fellow introvert, haha)!
