Potsdam is very small and friendly City. It‘s very Safe in my opinion and the people are very nice. It‘s next to Berlin, so you can easily go to berlin within 20minutes. Lot‘s of familys and young people live here.
Posted: January 9, 2025I think Potsdam is relatively safe. You should stay away from some areas but I always feel safe during the day. I've only been spoken to strangely twice in public transport in more than 10 years and it was always easy to quickly leave the situation.
Posted: January 6, 2025Potsdam is a very safe and open minded city. Even though the people not always seem overly friendly, they are happy to help if you ask them kindly. Public transport is safe to use at any time day and night. Although there are places you should not be at as a solo travelling woman especially at night, but those are places you're normally not going to be interested in as a tourist.
Posted: January 1, 2025Potsdam is actually relatively safe, I have lived there for 18 years and nothing has ever happened to me or my closest relatives/friends that could be considered unsafe or dangerous, I have even been out at night and that is actually fine, you just keep your distance from people who are weird and that shouldn't be a problem
Posted: December 31, 2024It has the reputation of being safe and quiet and it’s true in my opinion. I have always felt safe even in times where it was dark and empty. It’s close to Berlin but so much nicer and safer. I would love to welcome any women wanting a nice step over or a day trip from Berlin.
Posted: December 30, 2024The city of Potsdam is very safe as far as I can tell. However it has several districts, which of course differ from each other. I live close to the city centre and I’d say there it’s pretty quiet and calm.
Posted: December 26, 2024Depending on the exact location, but overall pretty safe. There are drunk men in the public Transport at night sometimes, who Stare at you or say weird stuff and there might be catcalling in the streets. And there are a few pretty conservative people, that might stare at you if you're queer, but there's also a big queer community in Potsdam
Posted: December 23, 2024Safe! Just drunk people at night could not be the best vibe, although it never happened anything :) It's a medium sized city, more on the small side. But we'll kept and with nice classic arquitechture.

Potsdam is a very nice city and it s very secure for women. It s a peacefull place. With a train you can join Berlin in 20 minutes. It s a very cleany small city with a lot of castles and history tresor
Posted: July 17, 2024Hi, went there by train! Had a student Ticket so ist was pretty cheap, would recommend the Deutschland Ticket (49 €/month of Public transport). It's a little annoying that you have to go to Berlin first to go to Potsdam. I went there and found cool artgroups and courses. People were open and I stayed at a friends place. I belive hotels and restaurants are quite pricey there. Keep in mind that there's a time in the night when it's not so easy to go back to Berlin as the busses and trains take breaks. Busses weren't as reliable-plan in extra time!

Heyy :) My name is Nora and I am 20 years old. I am a very joyful and open-minded person who loves to connect with people 🌻. I am also very empathic, respectful and considerate. I am interested in a lot of different subjects such as politics, history, women's rights (for example in the health and obstetrics). I would love to connect with other traveling women on this platform!
