Is Germany Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Germany is generally a very safe destination for solo female travelers. The crime rate is low and local citizens are typically courteous and helpful. Public transportation, including trains and busses, is widely available and secure. Nevertheless, previously would be wise to respect general safety guidelines as in any other place, such as avoiding isolated areas late at night and being aware of your belongings. German people usually speak English, which makes communication easier. Remember, always trust your instincts.

I went to Bonn to visit a friend of mine and it was an amazing experience. The river was so nearby and with the train Cologne was only an hour. I also liked Koblenz and I recommend to everyone. Just go and explore

Berlin, Group travel

Berlin was fun. We didn’t get in to Berghain (lol) but we did our own tour of the city and the vibes were great. Public transportation is very easy and convenient. Very diverse food options. Great rave venues - I would love to go back and let loose again!

Berlin, Couple travel

I loveddd loved loved Berlin this is definitely a perfect place to live in. I could find everything I've wanted. Also literally everyone I've interacted with was so sweet and helpful. There were such good shopping places and the food we tried was delicious.

I visited Berlin at the beginning of April and it was so so nice! It is very easy to meet new people, the international setting allows you to meet people from all around the world. I really enjoyed going to a rave and I’m sure I’ll be coming back for more!!

Frankfurt

Frankfurt has a bad reputation, but is a much nicer city than many people think. I would avoid the area around the main station at day and night (also would suggest not to book a hotel there) and the zeil area at night.

Regensburg

The city is pretty safe, but there are a few corners where you will most definitely get cat called or followed by a group of guys. Other than that, police are very quick to arrive and help if you are ever in actual danger. Avoid dark small streets in proximity of the main train station in the direction of the old town.

Hamburg

Depends on where ur are. Eppendorf and Winterhude is very safe but Reeperbahn, Billstedt, Mümmelmansberg are not that safe. Over all don’t go out alone at night as a Women. And never take the last U Bahn

Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden is a pleasant and rather calm city with a nice selection of small cafés, and there are always new ones opening up☕✨ You can also go shopping here quite well, even though it’s not a major shopping destination. Overall, it’s a comfortable place to live and spend time in, but in my personal opinion, it’s not necessarily a must-see tourist city unless you’re interested in cultural activities. The Kurhaus is very beautiful and there are nice options for theatre and cultural...

About me

My name is Anna and I'm 19. I just finished school and am now traveling for a bit before starting the next big chapter of my life. I already spent nine months in Ireland during my time in school and I fell in love with the country and its people. I'm vegan and I really love animals, so I do whatever I can to protect them. I have a dog (Paula) and love to play and cuddle with her. I also keep lots of plants in my house :)

About me

Hi, I am Antonia, (20y) and come from Germany. I lived in Sweden most of my childhood, but moved back to Rostock for my work at the Check-In for Stena Line (the ferry company). I love to travel, explore new places, cultures and Food. I was in Portugal 2024 as a part of my school though Erasmus+ and there really found my passion for exploring new countries. I am always looking for travel buddies or people who'd love to show me around their city a little.
