Is Germany safe for solo female travelers?

Germany is generally a very safe destination for solo female travelers. The crime rate is low and local citizens are typically courteous and helpful. Public transportation, including trains and busses, is widely available and secure. Nevertheless, previously would be wise to respect general safety guidelines as in any other place, such as avoiding isolated areas late at night and being aware of your belongings. German people usually speak English, which makes communication easier. Remember, always trust your instincts.

Bremen, Group travel

Bremen 2025: great beer and coffee, friendly climbing gym, beautiful architecture and perfect routes for running. Warm days, relaxed pace, cosy cafés and an easy city to enjoy actively outside Summer.

Hamburg, Family travel

I loved it for the part I visited! It's a very big city and there is a lot of things to do, there's a lot of different cultures. The port is so nice as well as the old town ! There is a big outdoor ice skating ring it was amazing. Food was good and there's so many restaurants!

Aschaffenburg

Aschaffenburg is pretty safe! In my 3 years living there I can count the "big" crimes on one hand. At night there's some drug dealing/using in Park Schöntal, so I'd avoid that area. You can roam as safely as a woman as in every other German smaller city.

Bremen

Overall Bremen is a small city with a cozy vibe, river, parks and alternative spots with bars, cafes and art. But be aware at night in certain area as central Station or Gröpelingen or weirdos at Viertel (Sielwall)

Mainz

Mainz is actually quite safe or at least not more dangerous than any other average city. Just don’t talk to anyone who lingers at the main train station or in general if you’re alone at night, but there are some kebab shops that are open until quite late at night, so there’s always some people around

About me

Hello there! I am from a small Town (Ratingen-Hösel) near Düsseldorf in Germany! Normally I am working part-time in a bookstore and studying fulltime global history, German literature and cultural studies. Due to some mental health problems last year I am now on a sick leave until March/April for a few months to find my sparkle back... (sounds cliché I know xD) In that time I wanna do some trips! About me: I am a little "neurospicy", so I have Adhd and autism. I am a introverted person but I feel the need to work on that! Would love to meet some new girlies!
