Of course and sadly, there are always some people who cause unsafety but in general i feel pretty safe living here and i mostly experienced nice encounters. The streets in Münster are really empty at night, i feel safe that way but i guess that depends on person to person :)

Over all it’s a pretty safe place for women, I walk home from work very late and feel comfortable. Besides that, Münster is not a huge and very crowded city, so sometimes I’m more worried that there is nobody to help me in case of need.
Posted: January 12, 2025A small and peaceful city, peoples very respectful. The majority here are students from all the world. There are many interesting things to visit. In general, it is a city that deserves to be visitied

Münster is a city with lots of university students. It's a cliche but it's got lots of vegans and even more bikes than people. While it's still a moderate city and I don't like being alone at night near the train station, I think it's a pretty safe town for women since young people tend to look out for each other.
Posted: December 25, 2024Münster sometimes feels like a little doll house to me. I‘m from a region in germany where the crime rates are way higher so to me münster feels extremely safe. Also there are always people arounf (joggers for example) so in most areas you‘re never really alone :)
Posted: December 23, 2024Münster is a pretty safe city in general, but I would still suggest to be cautious around the train station area and it's always good to be careful at night just in case. Depending on the environment you might run into some racism but you it's not completely bad.
Posted: October 14, 2024I‘ve lived my whole life in Münster and nothing has ever happened to me. However, I do know people with other experiences so always be careful, especially at night, but overall and compared to other cities, Münster is very safe in my opinion
Posted: August 13, 2024Münster is not particularly crime-ridden, and as a woman, I feel very safe even at night. Especially due to the number of students, there are always people outside, and you don’t feel particularly alone. The city center is safe, but outlying areas like Coerde, Kinderhaus, or Gremmendorf might be somewhat different. I don’t personally spend much time there, so i don’t know. The area around the train station or Bremerplatz can feel scary at night because of the presence of junkies, although there are far fewer here than in other cities. However, as long as it's the weekend or Wednesday, there are usually enough people around.

Münster is a very safe place. It’s a very active city and you always have the feeling that there is someone who will help you out if you’re in need. Though it’s always best to stay cautious. Just don’t take opened drinks and watch your belongings. That should be the case for every city and place on earth tho.
Posted: July 11, 2024Münster is not a scary city. It is full of students and everyone is very well behaved. The only places where I even think about my own safety are the train station (especially at night) and maybe in some clubs. Anyway, nothing bad has ever happened to me in Münster.

Hello there! My name is Dilan and I am a 29 year old student (speech language pathology) from Münster. I love to cook, paint and meet new people. Getting new input regarding social and cultural topics is like an addiction for me- so meeting people from different backgrounds on this platform is the perfect opportunity for that !
