Living in Dresden feels very safe. I can walk around the city, even in the evening, without worrying. Of course, sometimes I might overthink things because of some news or random incidents, but overall, everything is calm and comfortable here. I really feel secure most of the time.
Posted: May 12, 2025During the day there are many pickpockets. Keep valuables in a way that they cannot be easily stolen. At night do not go out alone if you do not know your way around as you will often be harassed. Take a bag and lamps with you as street lamps often do not work
Posted: March 18, 2025I feel like Dresden ist a city thats very safe for women. There are only few times where I fehlt Like I was being harassed and those incidences also happend a while a go. I would be more worried about having my stuff stolen but even at this point, compared to other places, I would all in all consider Dresden as safe.
Posted: March 8, 2025Dresden is safe, especially in the old town, because it is really beautiful there. There could be a little crime in the circle around Dresden or in some parts of Dresden, but all in all I fell really safe.
Posted: January 31, 2025Overall, the city feels really safe. During the day you shouldn’t have any problems as a solo female traveler. At night you should avoid certain places like parks and lonely streets. Just don’t try to look lost and walk around confidently and all should be fine

Dresden is a really chilled and laid back city. Everyone is enjoining the beautiful old barocke view in warm summer evenings. There is no real reason to feel unsafe. Maybe you will get in contact with political rightwing people trying to express their opinion in a rude way, but overall I feel very comfortable hanging out there :)
Posted: January 29, 2025Been living here for 4 years. I got catcalled twice on Halloween once by some drunk dudes and had a guy follow me once on my way home. These incidents were isolated and don't happen regularly. In general it feels pretty safe here.

Very Safe for white colored people. Still safe for people of color, but there are (especially mondays) a few cringe guys walking around. I would rather call them „Neon-Nazis“. As far as you don’t talk to them, there is not much of a problem.
Posted: January 17, 2025I‘m feeling safe when i‘m around in the city. It‘s just the generell feeling of anxiety a women can feel. I‘m living here about 7years and where sexuell harrassed once. But i know, that’s not a shared experience. Also it could be more dangerous for BIPoC, because a lot of right minded people living in saxony. But if your staying in the Altstadt and Neustadt, you shall be feeling safe.
Posted: January 16, 2025Dresden is a beautiful city with people that have their hearts on the right place. Germans would always help in a difficult situation although their English might not be the best. It is absolutely no problem to be on your own after it gets dark but I'd be aware to always sit as close to the person who is driving the bus/train as possible.

ok, dresden is quite an expensive city but in a week I was able to spend about 100€ (maybe it's cheap for you), there are a lot of youth events where different freaks gather (I advise you to go to the park in Neustadt!!) also if you are interested be sure to go to the open space, these guys sometimes organize cool meetings and be sure to TRY THEIR SHAWARMA. the downsides are the rather expensive city transport and the constant problems with trains (definitely buy tickets on Flixtrain!! they are much cheaper there) and I strongly advise against walking alone at night, there are a lot of drunk men there who can harass you.
Posted: May 7, 2025I was surprised at how beautiful the city of Dresden is, very clean and safe compared to many cities in Germany. The architecture in the city center is more like French or Italian architecture, which is nothing short of amazing! The best coffeeshop in the city is called Oswaldz, located near the center and with incredibly delicious coffee. I also recommend eating at restaurants like Mama Mia, Shiki, but the price tag there is not cheap, rather than the usual restaurant level in Germany. Visit the suspension road in the city and see the city from above.

Hi, I'm Malou, not yet 20 and I'm a open-minded and sensibly extrovert person. I'm the big sister and big cousin, so I don't have a role model in my family, what means that I have to find myself and try out as much as possible to find my way, if you know what I mean :) I love languages, sports, food, music and parties, but also bike trips, swimming in lakes and chilling in the nature.

hi! Iim based in Dresden and would be happy to show someone around the city or even host at my place with pleasure. I’m always open to meeting new people, having meaningful conversations, and sharing local tips or advice. I’m friendly, easy-going, and always up for a walk, a coffee, or discovering new places together!
