That's a conservative city in Bavaria. Of course, it has many problems, but only some places require extra care to be safe, especially for women. However, compared to other cities like Frankfurt and Berlin, it is safer here.

Nuremberg feels safe, I heard from people that things might happen but I never experienced anything dangerous or put of place. I generally feel safe walking around at night or going home late, I don’t walk in very empty spaces and I follow my instincts if I don’t feel like going somewhere.

it is mostly safe during daylight hours but at night it can feel very intimidating, especially around the main station area. lots of people under the influence and catcalling happens quite a lot at night as well.

Nuremberg is a place when I felt safe and it has become totally iconic for me! I’ve been there for a few days (cheap flights) and it’s really worth it. First of all, I can highly reccomend long walks through the town; it’s really cute and I’m sure you’re gonna like it. German which I met were very helpful, but still all you need is map. Museum DB (of communication) and museum of Albrecht Durer (who was born here) were really cool to see too.

I currently still live in Nuremberg. I'm preparing for my work and travel time. this begins on July 2nd, 2025 and starts in Iceland. I'm really looking forward to it and hope for some inspiration. I am interested in local people when I travel.
