It ist a big german city … thera are not safe and less safe areas less safe ist the main railwaystation/ hauptbahnhof and the area south to it (südstadt) but overall I think it ist moderate - but I am born in this big city - if you live in a safer county or a small village I think the big city can be very scary as it has drunk and crazy people … Write someone and call them while walking around in the dark to feel safe - you probably woun’t get hurt

“Overall, I feel Nuremberg is a safe city, including its surroundings. However, the main train station area at night can feel less secure. It’s best to avoid lingering there unnecessarily or leave quickly. Otherwise, the city is welcoming and safe.”
Posted: January 13, 2025Nuremberg is overall a great city, its even in the statistics of the Police. The Neighborcuty Furth, is even the savest city of Bavaria multiple times in a row. One should just be careful at the main trainstation when its late but they get that already in their grip

I would’ve said that it’s safe as it can be for just regular city, fairly there are a lot more dangerous cities in Germany than Nürnberg. I’ve been living here for around a year, and Thank God nothing happened to me, I feel pretty safe just walking around city. But I would highly recommend to avoid being alone out in late, dark hours and be aware of your surroundings. But overall I would recommend to visit this beautiful city.
Posted: January 9, 2025I am just having a good life here. People are kind and also going out (at night) is not a big deal. It has never happened anything bad to me and police officers are also out at night. If there would happen anything I would definitely know what to do or where I get help
Posted: January 6, 2025It feels pretty safe, if you know where you have to go. But in some places i dont feel very safe as a women. For example when walking home alone in streets, where there is no light. I feel like many people would help when you are in need, wich makes me feel more comfortable when beeing alone. .

That's a conservative city in Bavaria. Of course, it has many problems, but only some places require extra care to be safe, especially for women. However, compared to other cities like Frankfurt and Berlin, it is safer here.

Nuremberg feels safe, I heard from people that things might happen but I never experienced anything dangerous or put of place. I generally feel safe walking around at night or going home late, I don’t walk in very empty spaces and I follow my instincts if I don’t feel like going somewhere.

it is mostly safe during daylight hours but at night it can feel very intimidating, especially around the main station area. lots of people under the influence and catcalling happens quite a lot at night as well.

Nuremberg is a place when I felt safe and it has become totally iconic for me! I’ve been there for a few days (cheap flights) and it’s really worth it. First of all, I can highly reccomend long walks through the town; it’s really cute and I’m sure you’re gonna like it. German which I met were very helpful, but still all you need is map. Museum DB (of communication) and museum of Albrecht Durer (who was born here) were really cool to see too.

I currently still live in Nuremberg. I'm preparing for my work and travel time. this begins on July 2nd, 2025 and starts in Iceland. I'm really looking forward to it and hope for some inspiration. I am interested in local people when I travel.
