It's okay. Sometimes things happen, and you pick up on something. Personally, nothing bad happened to me, except that I was followed and yelled at. However, there are dangerous places, some where more happens and others less.

• overall quite safe and has a low criminal rate • some dangerous areas (especially at night and as a women/female presenting person) such as "neumarkt" or "johannisstraße" • mostly no cctv • a night taxi service for women that costs only 7€ and gets you home safely

Osnabrück is a rather small city. People there are overall a bit stuffy. Of course there is sexual harassment just like anywhere else in the world (sad to say) but I’ve been living there for almost 5 years now and I’ve been harassed by a group of teenage boys once. I have to say I grew up with a lot of men around me so I might have a thick skin but I’ve never felt unsafe walking around the city in darkness or going somewhere alone. (There’s also going to be a taxi only for women during the summer months that will drive you home safely for a decent price.) I also have to say that if you are LGBTQ+, you might experience some harassment and hate. Osnabrück itself is pretty open, has a LGBTQ+ community and celebrates special events every year but as I said: most people there are a bit stuffy.
Posted: April 14, 2024My experience in Osnabrück eas amazing. I found a really lovely host via Be Welcome who even gave me her bike to use! I had a wonderful time in this small cute city. Everything is reachable by bus or bike or even foot. Roses and lavender were blooming and the people were friendly. I felt very safe, even on the main roads and city centre at night.

hey! Im Rieke, 21 y., living in Germany but doing my gap year right now and travel around Asia!🫶 I’d loveee to meet and connect with women, do fun activities together and share some time (: I’m doing low budget traveling and I’m flexible with many activities - swimming/scuba diving/snorkeling, sports, experimenting new local (veggie) food, partying sometimes, reading, yoga, meditation, hiking, chilling at the beach.. you name it haha!

just another basic travel girlie that is kinda scared of men lol I love to travel alone, I love doing WorkAway and have been volunteering in two animal sanctuaries so far. Love the Spanish language and trying really hard to learn but failing miserably. Kinda funny in German. Love trying new things that I am really scared of (climbing, surfing, skating…). Got bitten twice by a dog in my last volunteer work and still believe they are the best thing in the world. Love dancing (especially R&B, dancehall, Afro) but usually only go clubbing to techno music because I prefer the respectful and conscious culture around it. I like being artsy and can be good at it if I take my time, but usually don’t take the time. Started playing the ukulele a year ago and slowly getting better at it. Like to sing even though I only do it when I feel very comfortable. Diving is the best thing in the world. I have a bachelor in cognitive science and I am still not sure what it actually is. Psychology & philosophy. Feminist, political and vegan. But no I will not tell u about it every two seconds, but I’ll give you my opinion if you ask. Kind & soft but not accepting bullshit :)) wow that actually did not take me that long
