Düsseldorf is pretty safe. But it also depends where you are and at what time. For example I’m not that worried to walk around during the night from my work to my home. But if you are walking around the main train station or Worringer Platz then I’d be careful. Also if you are in a club there is a possibility of getting harassed, but they do back of. So it’s probably more fun to go to a Karaoke bar (one of the Irish pubs) to sing and drink, since the people are sometimes just nicer:)
Posted: January 20, 2025Düsseldorf is a nice place to visit actually. Here is not a lot to do, but if you wanna go shopping, make your cute pictures with an iced matcha latte at a nice spot, its definetly a place to be. Text me if you need some inspo for food spots ✨.

Düsseldorf is a big beautiful city and has unlike few different parts. The area around central train station is not that peaceful and it is a bit chaos but when you get out of that zone it feels very safe, aristocrat and worth visiting
Posted: January 17, 2025There are some scary men at night who might follow you or stare at u like they want to kidnap you even in public. But it never really happened something serious to me. If u can, try to not walk alone at night.
Posted: January 14, 2025Düsseldorf is actually one of the safer cities in Germany. In comparison to other places like Gelsenkirchen in NRW I consider this city to be full of students and genuine people. As a woman I feel safe to go clubbing, walking the streets late at night or traveling with public transport.
Posted: January 6, 2025When i first moved here it took me a while to feel safe, since it was the first time living alone and a new city after all. But after the first three months i felt more and more safe and now i can confidently say that i feel pretty good living here. There are more and less safe places around the city but mostly i’d say its pretty decent here :)

I would say it’s quite save. As a girl you get the usual catcalls but it’s not like it’s all the time or something. Usually you can enjoy your night out or a day at a lake. We do have a number you can call if you feel unsafe and they will talk to you till you are home.
Posted: December 29, 2024It is actually safe….but there are always those men you all know :( I my opinion the old town in Düsseldorf for women is one of the most critical places because of the large number of strange drunk men. However, I also have to say that the old town is full of police officers who ensure a certain level of security.
Posted: December 24, 2024the presence pf police in full or crowded spaces gives you a sense pf safety. Other than that as long as one is taking safety precautions as usual the city is pretty safe to navigate any time of the day. Of course one must be wary of train stations. Just try to stay in crowded areas or near the policemen.

I feel like its quite safe here. At night the more central places are a bit scary cuz thats when weird creepy people (mostly men) come out. I never experienced harrassment or violence in Düsseldorf.

I felt safe but I was also there for 24hrs. There was a lot of places to walk to but I felt limited with choice of things to see. I would definetly recommend the Old Town in the evening for a drink and food.

Germany
Düsseldorf is literally the prettiest city in Germany I’ve visited so far!’ The buildings are huge and pretty, you’ve got a mix of old architecture that reminds me of Paris and you’ve got modern buildings too! The park is super pretty, it’s very safe, the promenade around Rhein is just stunning! It’s super lively and they’ve got lots of cafes and bars next to the Rhein blasting music and people are just having fun ✨

Heyy I really enjoy traveling and getting to know new cultures. So I’d love to get in contact with new people 🙌🏻☺️
Julia
hello! my name is Julia and I love to travel and meeting new people! I have never tried anything like couch surfing before but I am excited to give it a try :) I am an outgoing person who likes to go to art exhibitions and cultural events. I studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf and I am looking forward to an internship at the theatre in Düsseldorf end of February. In the meantime I would like to visit Milan because I really like the city and haven’t been there for a while. While I’m there I would also like to visit my relatives who live in Ivrea and I would also like to go to Bologna for a day by train because I am considering to apply there for my Masters in “Innovation of Culture and the Arts”. 🌆💌 I am an easy-going and communicative person, who is respectful and tidy. I would be very happy if someone could host me for a couple of days!
