It is a big city afterall. So yes, it's undeniable that there are crimes happening. Depending on the area, you'll find some crazy people. But overall, if you take the general precautions, it's a quite safe city to walk around

Berlin is overall a very safe and queer friendly city. Especially the lgbtq+ community is so inspiring. Of course there are some places I don‘t go to alone after dark but I guess that’s the case in every city
Posted: May 28, 2025berlin can be a unsafe if you are a woman walking alone at night. Areas like Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Wedding are quite busy with many men wandering at night. I have experienced someone chasing me twice and strangers being very insistent on talking with them.

I would say that, in my experience, Berlin is quite a safe city. I have been living here for the past three years and have never had any issues. However, I do think that it is maybe not a city for everyone because it is very big and there are a lot of people, which means that taking public transport, for instance, can get quite crowded and could be overwhelming for people who aren’t used to it.

Like any big city, Berlin is not necessarily safe, especially when it comes to pickpockets and women should not be out alone in all areas at night. But otherwise I would say berlin is relatively safe if you take care of yourself and you have to be careful: Where the nearby traffic goes and which areas you shouldn't go into as a woman at night

Berlin has been wild in the best way. It’s a city where every neighborhood feels like its own little world — from the artsy chaos of Kreuzberg to the quiet charm of Prenzlauer Berg. I love how laid-back people are here, and how you can wear anything, be anyone, and no one bats an eye. Public transport is super convenient (and a bit chaotic during delays), and it’s been easy to get around even without speaking perfect German. Living here as a student isn’t exactly cheap — groceries and transport add up — but there are always free events, museums with student discounts, and parks full of life. I’ve felt safe walking around, even at night, especially in busy areas. Like any big city, you just keep your bag close and stay aware. The best part? The feeling that something interesting is always happening, just around the corner.

Hello! I’m Berta, I’m 24, I’m from Spain, I live in Berlin aaaaand I’m currently not working because I just quit my job lol I decided (after years of thinking about it but not daring to do it) to take a break from work/studying/career stuff to travel for a while and visit different places and volunteer at alternative projects throughout Europe! So that’s my plan for the next year or so :) while doing so, I want to meet different people and truly engage with the places that I stay, which is why I decided to join Travel Ladies!!

Hi there! I'm Lisa, 21, nature-loving, curious, and always up for a new adventure. When I'm not working in the OR (I'm a newly qualified surgical assistant), you'll probably find me walking shelter dogs, curled up with a good book in my rocking chair, or dreaming up my next trip. I love long walks, forest escapes, beach days, and discovering new cultures—whether it's trying new foods, learning languages, or exploring hidden corners of the world. I'm also into skiing, camping, and always happy to try new sports or step outside my comfort zone. As a travel buddy, I’m a mix of planner and spontaneous soul. I enjoy organizing trips but also love when unexpected changes turn into unforgettable memories. People describe me as open, empathetic, flexible, and someone who loves to make others laugh and feel at ease. I’m currently exploring solo travel and looking for new friends to share experiences with—someone to exchange tips, go on adventures, or just chat over tea in a cozy bookstore. I'm also trying to get more active, so if you enjoy jogging or dancing at concerts, that's a bonus! I speak German and Russian fluently, communicate well in English, and I’d love to brush up on my French again. So far, I've explored countries like Spain, Italy, Croatia, Austria, Turkey, and Russia—with Kyrgyzstan coming up later this year! Iceland and Scotland are high on my travel wish list. If any of this resonates with you, I'd love to connect! Bereist habe ich bisher u.a.
