Really safe city, feel like an Italian town. Some bad blood in some districts around the city (Saline is an example). People are usually friendly but not really open minded if you are not « in the mold » (white heterosexual classic) and can easily make snarky comments. Overall one of the safest city in France in my humble opinion. In peak summer a lot of drug deals around nightclubs etc, that’s just something to think about (dangerous drivers after 1am, and hot tempered men tourist and locals.). It is not a legend people are tensed behind the wheel.
Posted: September 1, 2025In overall and in daylight I would say that this city is relatively safe. The almost constant presence of families and/or mothers out in the streets during the day can calm an anxious ming about harassment, and people generally mind their own business. There are still some places and neighbourhoods that I personally tend to avoid, where the population in the streets is almost entirely made of men.
Posted: August 31, 2025It’ s ok. It depends on the people that you meet. There is some places, mostly bar, that aren’t really safe but it’s not specially dangerous or anything. You can do some activites alone. No problem with that
Posted: August 30, 2025Be careful of pickpockets in paris, especially in tourist areas. At night, try not to go out alone or visit unfamiliar places like streets whiteout lights. Trust your instincts if a place or situation feels unsafe, leave right away

The city is calm, you can walk alone but you cannot wear just any outfit because the men are harassing. The residential neighborhood is safe, no burglaries or theft, and the police respond quickly in case of a problem.

I felt very safe in Strasbourg, it’s a welcoming and charming city. I highly recommend walking around La Petite France, visiting the cathedral, and enjoying a boat tour on the Ill river. For food, the traditional winstubs are a must—Flammekueche is delicious! I stayed near the city center which was very convenient and lively. Getting around was easy thanks to the trams and the fact that most places are walkable. My itinerary was a mix of cultural visits, long walks, and good food, which made the experience unforgettable.
