Grenoble was very nice. I got the chance to be hosted by a local for the weekend and she showed me around her favourite places. I loved the adventure of discovering a new city and especially through the eyes of someone who lives there and loves her city.

I KEEP dreaming myself back to Charleville Mezieres and I would love to return to this city in the summer. The nature surrounding it is beautiful, and is a very good alternative to Reimes or Paris. (And closer if you’re travelling from the east!) It is truly a hidden pearl. The architecture was STUNNING and you truly felt like you had gotten thrown into a cinematic coming-of-age-movie. We didn’t do much more than walking around and taking in the city. The city felt slow, but we also visited in the month of February and it was OH so cold. Charleville-Mezieres is actually France’s coldest city! So, for the hot summer months, I can only imagine how amazing it must be in this city by the river Meuse. We did not eat out, but we took a drink (outside!) in what then felt like a warming spring sun, alongside the locals who had been waiting for the sun’s first warming rays all winter. Now looking back, it can’t have been more than 5° outside in the sun.

It’s a very quiet and safe city, people are very open and welcoming to strangers, there is a lot of different restaurants to dry different cuisines. You can also meet people from different nationalities and explore the unique architecture of the coty

Paris is a lovely city. Not exactly only in the tourist spots! On my first visit, I didn’t realise Paris as it is, I was in a group and they were very worried about tourist spots. And then I didn’t find the then famous “city of love”. Now in my second time, I discovered the city of love, and I’m not talking about being with someone! Yes, in being with you and finding love in the delicacy of architecture, in the decoration of cute bistros or listening to musicians performing in the late afternoon of the Jardin des Tuileries or sitting down to eat a snack at Jardin du Luxembourg Paris brings art both in its museums but also to be contemplated on the street for everyone 🤍

Marseille has a reputation for being dangerous, but in my experience, it's no more dangerous than anywhere else in France. It's a fairly poor city, so there's a risk of theft, but I find Marseille to be, above all, a welcoming city.

Montpellier is generally safe for tourists, but like any major city, it comes with a few caveats. If you’re planning to explore the city, a bit of street smarts and awareness will go a long way.
Posted: November 19, 2025Lyon is safe if you are with the right people and are a bit careful. Being in the right neighborhoods is important, just like everywhere else there are some crazy people but people will come to help you! During the day I think it's safe enough, there are always soldiers and police officers in the streets, I personally have never had any problems, even at night.
Posted: November 18, 2025The safety in Paris really depends on the neighbourhood you go, the Uber driver a really safe, be careful at « Porte de Clignancourt » its the only place where I had stressful situations. The metro is okay but close early (depends on the day) so check it before!

I live in the center of Lyon, my neighborhood is quite calm and safe, but I don't go out at night because I'm a bit worried as there are a lot of bars there. In addition, I live at the school where I work and there aren't many neighbors.
