I think in Strasbourg it depends on the quarter. Some feel pretty safe, like Petite France or Robertsau. But, as all big city, some quarters are a bit dangerous for a woman alone. I prefer not to be alone in those. But transports are ok late at night.

In the center of Strasbourg, police make patrol each 15 minutes so you’re totally safe walking alone at night or any time ! Also a lot of bar havr a secret « mademoiselle » cocktail that you can order if you’re annoyed by someone of feeling in danger !

It's a Western European city. "Zero risk" doesn't exist, especially as a woman, but I don't know any place where I'd feel safer (just maybe Japan?). Overall a very safe place to travel to, I would absolutely encourage women to travel there, even solo.

20 years living there I've only experienced one homeless man being pushy with me at a tramway station. But my friends all have many creepy events to tell especially weird old men in the tramway so even if you should be safe overall, I'd suggest staying in parts of the tramway that are at least a bit crowded.
Posted: April 9, 2025In my experience, Strasbourg is a relatively safe city, with the exception of the neighborhood surrounding the bus and railway stations, especially at night, as well as the Chronenbourg area. Pickpocketing is fairly rare, aside from more crowded places (such as the cathedral, Place Kléber, during Christmas market season).
Posted: April 9, 2025Never had a problem. Even when it’s quietest and darkest, there’s nothing to be afraid of. I’d just avoid parks after dark, though. It’s a student city, so there are young and friendly people everywhere.
Posted: April 6, 2025Strasbourg is an overall safe city compared to other ones in France. I can walk back home at nights without fearing to be assaulted. But one night someone stole my phone directly from my hand. It is the only problem i had here.
Posted: March 14, 2025I think Strasbourg is quite safe if you stick to the center. I didn't have any particular issue but you should always be careful. Plus, there is always people in the street until midnight so you can always ask

I am a 20 yo student living in strasbourg, and i love this city ! It is really beautiful and calm. Concerning the safety, i wouk not recommend to you to walk at night alone in the center (place kleber, petite france…) but there are a lot of neighbouring that are a lot safer and still pretty !

France is quite a safe place to travel People are nice There are light in the street during the night and you have transport not all night but during a good part of the night You don’t have your worry a lot about someone stolen your stuff even if as always it’s better to keep it with you or to let it at your accommodation

Traveling solo through Strasbourg on a low budget was an amazing experience! I felt super safe, even at night, which made exploring the city so much more enjoyable. The Strasbourg Cathedral is an absolute must-see—the details are incredible! Unfortunately, I didn’t make it up to the viewing platform, but even from the ground, it’s stunning. The city is full of cute little streets that are perfect for wandering, with charming cafés and half-timbered houses everywhere. Definitely a great destination for solo travelers!
Posted: February 1, 2025Experienced: December, 2024I visited Strasbourg around the Christmas time- which is, if you are familiar, the fullest and most beautiful version of the city. It was really crowded, but the city itself is so beautiful and there were too much to see so it didn’t cause any problems. The Christmas market was awesome, everything tasted so good! Overall the spirit and vibe of Strasbourg created a magical environment. I was there with 3 of my friends but I believe a solo trip should also be as good. Have fun!☺️
