Annecy is quite safe, but one should still make smart choices and not take unnecessary risks. Don't leave your drink or bag unattended, beware of pickpockets like in any crowded area, don't leave valuables in your car, don't draw attention to yourself by wearing lots of jewelry and such.
Posted: October 14, 2024Annecy is a calm city and it feels fairly safe. The old city center is lively but safe, except for some homeless people that could be drunk or on drugs. In general avoid talking to drunk people. Avoid some neighbourhoods alone at night like Cran-Gevrier.

Never felt safer than in my home town. There is no neighborhood dangerous i know and people don’t try anything generally (even though anything can happen anywhere). The only place where you could feel uncomfortable (but not in danger) would be the train station by night because people (sometimes drunk or drugged) hang around, but nothing dangerous.

Hello! I'm Carolina, a 52-year-old Argentine/Italian woman. I am a biologist, biology abs sex education teacher, and mother of three grown children. I speak English, French, and Italian. After living in Italy, Spain, and Prague, I decided to spend six months in France doing Workaway. In July, I will start working at a tea house in Annecy. I love traveling and discovering new cultures. Traveling has taught me that the most valuable part is not just the places I visit, but the wonderful people I meet and the unique experiences I share. I am passionate about nature, hiking, and cinema, and I enjoy sharing Argentine baking recipes. I also love visiting museums and art galleries. I adore the warm atmosphere of cozy cafes, especially those with excellent bakers and a variety of mouthwatering pastries. Dancing is another passion of mine, particularly to music from the '70s and '80s (although I am Latin American, reggaeton is not my thing!). I am a strong advocate for human rights and the environment. I'm really interested in genre and human relationships. I am exploring the possibility of becoming a Spanish teacher and am eager to enrich myself with new experiences and learning opportunities. I am a cheerful, friendly, adaptable, and organized person, always willing to learn and share stories. Thank you for considering me!

I had a long career as a registered nurse and worked in many areas, including the Air Force, from which I'm now retired. I also taught nursing ethics at university, and I taught English in Greece and Spain. Now I've been living in France since July and don't have plans to leave. I love it here and am becoming quite a francophile! ❤️ I love the outdoors and nature, cycling, hiking, paddling, road tripping, exploring big cities or medieval towns, going to wineries and breweries, dancing, singing, the theater and performing arts, and lots more.
