Toulouse is a very safe city, sometimes, people drink too much and can be annoying in the metro or in the street (mainly Saturday nights), but overall, it’s a pretty nice place to be in. There are some places to avoid if you don’t wanna take risks, but the city center is very safe.

Well, I'm a very anxious person so I tend to sur estimate the danger everywhere. The public transportation is great, I take it everyday and nothing bad happens to me but.. sometimes there are strange people like everywhere who make me afraid (hopefully the security is here in case). I don't really go out at night but the time that I did nothing really happened so I think it may be safe to go out at night.

I've never heard of any terrifying story of crime or harassment in Toulouse. It is a very safe city, I've lived there for around 4 years. I have been followed by men a few times but I asked for help immediately and people were very reactive, sometimes I didn't even needed any help because people were noticing the problem, or they eventually left me alone.
Posted: April 11, 2025Toulouse is generally safe, but like all big cities there are places to avoid and annoying people you should be careful of. I avoid going out or coming home alone at night. It's still a city where there are a lot of sisterhoods, people are attentive and come to help easily.
Posted: March 20, 2025There are some districts which are dangerous but if you stay in safe places there are no problems. The city center is safe and Toulouse is one of the few big cities in France where there is not a lot of risks.

Toulouse is a dynamic and young city with lots of great places to go out and enjoy. As like in every city, there are areas to avoid, and normal precautions to take as a young woman, but generally speaking Toulouse down town is a very safe place to be in.
Posted: March 13, 2025There are some neighborhoods you need to avoid at night : le Miral, Bagatelle, la Farouette, la Reynerie, Bellefontaine, Fontaine Lestang (most of the stations of the line A of the Subway between Arenes and Basso Combo)
Posted: March 1, 2025Toulouse is a young city, filled with students. The structure of the city lents itself to feeling safe as it is beautiful and people do check on each other. Generally there's no crime but pocket thieves exist like in any bigger city. The most dangerous thing that happened to me was almost getting trampled over by a horde of army police officers at the biggest festival in France "fête de la musique" they just popped out of the gate without checking left or right.

Toulouse is a really safe town. There are a lot of nice places (what we call « quartiers ») that are touristic and very safe. Some parts of Toulouse are less safe, especially at night (the names are « Le Mirail », « La Reynerie » and « Bagatelle »). The towns around Toulouse are much safer. I personally live 15mins away from the city and it’s really nice there. People here are also extremely nice (and in most southern towns in France) !
Posted: February 19, 2025Toulouse is quite a calm city, but there are times when you need to be careful at night because you never know what you might encounter, especially in areas where there aren't many people when you're heading home.

Yes, I feel mostly safe there, but man also can make me feel terrible, sorry I loved to going on a foot walk along the river, unbelievable view! I'm had budget and stand in family house, so no needs for paying rent. Also we liked to pick up packages of food that were about to expire (this helps both save money and preserve nature). And the food there was really good and tasty.

Toulouse is a very safe place, a city with a predominantly young and active population. There are also good restaurants and cafés. The pink color of the city's buildings provides a very pleasant atmosphere.
