There are some neighborhoods you need to avoid at night : le Miral, Bagatelle, la Farouette, la Reynerie, Bellefontaine, Fontaine Lestang (most of the stations of the line A of the Subway between Arenes and Basso Combo)
Posted: March 1, 2025Toulouse is a young city, filled with students. The structure of the city lents itself to feeling safe as it is beautiful and people do check on each other. Generally there's no crime but pocket thieves exist like in any bigger city. The most dangerous thing that happened to me was almost getting trampled over by a horde of army police officers at the biggest festival in France "fête de la musique" they just popped out of the gate without checking left or right.

Toulouse is a really safe town. There are a lot of nice places (what we call « quartiers ») that are touristic and very safe. Some parts of Toulouse are less safe, especially at night (the names are « Le Mirail », « La Reynerie » and « Bagatelle »). The towns around Toulouse are much safer. I personally live 15mins away from the city and it’s really nice there. People here are also extremely nice (and in most southern towns in France) !
Posted: February 19, 2025Toulouse is quite a calm city, but there are times when you need to be careful at night because you never know what you might encounter, especially in areas where there aren't many people when you're heading home.

For me, Toulouse is a safe place where you can have a good time with friends, and even alone. Like in all cities, there are always risks, but overall Toulouse is quite secure.

Some districts and suburbs of Toulouse aren’t nice to visit daily or nightly but if you stay in the hypercentre of Toulouse you ll be safe. It’s a student city, there’s a lot of young people so if you have a problem, you can call for help easily

I'd say Toulouse is safe but like any woman in any city there's never a 0% chance sadly, but i've rarely heard really bad stories from women around me. the worst i've been through is weird men coming up to me telling me i look good or whatever they hope would get me to give them my number (never works they're all really bad at it) but you just keep walking they've never followed me or anything. although there are some places in toulouse i would avoid cause i've heard some bad experiences from women on instagram or through friends
Posted: January 22, 2025Toulouse is safe in the part i live. In certains parts of the city, living by night as a women may be a bit dangerous. There are attackers who use stings to attack women in certain neighborhoods at night. I prefer to use the car after a certain time when I am alone in the center or in disadvantaged neighborhoods (Mirail, or Borderouge for example). Lately, a few sex offenders have been caught by the authorities. It is unsafe to be a vulnerable woman (if you are drunk for example) alone at night. but if you are accompanied and/or sober, there is a good chance that nothing will happen to you. you have to be rudent and know where you are going but overall many neighborhoods are safe. i live in a neighborhood where i am not afraid to go out at night. moreover it is a lively and ecological neighborhood ☺️
Posted: January 20, 2025Toulouse is overall quite safe there a a lot of cameras there are lights at night. I live near the public transport so I don’t have to walk alone to much. I have never been followed or envent atttacked
Posted: January 12, 2025Overall its not safe, you can get bothered everytime you go out, but your life isnt in danger. Being with someone else is better, be careful about your stuff and bag, it can get easily robbed if you dont watch out.

Toulouse is a very safe place, a city with a predominantly young and active population. There are also good restaurants and cafés. The pink color of the city's buildings provides a very pleasant atmosphere.

Toulouse is a small and beautiful city, if you like visiting churches and walking you will love it, I felt safe at all times and it is easy to use the metro, especially with the 3-day pass, fortunately I stayed the night with a friend so I don't know How expensive is the accommodation :(
