It's a fairly big city where people are really kind and will help you if needed. Of course, men are a problem everywhere but I lived and studied here for more than six years and I felt pretty safe. I only have few catcalling incidents in mind.
Posted: May 29, 2025Like any big cities, Toulouse sees a diverse crowd. It's generally safe during the days and, even at night, I would be ok walking in the city center or the more touristy spots. However, as a woman, you never feel 100% safe at night, especially in less busy areas. There are some neighbourhoods (in the south-est of the city mostly) that I would avoid but those areas don't have really anything to see there anyway.

Toulouse is a fairly safe city overall, there are just a few areas to avoid at night, such as Empalot, Le Mirail and Borderouge. Most public transport is safe, it runs until late at night so it's easy to get home safely.
Posted: May 19, 2025Toulouse is a very safe city, sometimes, people drink too much and can be annoying in the metro or in the street (mainly Saturday nights), but overall, it’s a pretty nice place to be in. There are some places to avoid if you don’t wanna take risks, but the city center is very safe.

Well, I'm a very anxious person so I tend to sur estimate the danger everywhere. The public transportation is great, I take it everyday and nothing bad happens to me but.. sometimes there are strange people like everywhere who make me afraid (hopefully the security is here in case). I don't really go out at night but the time that I did nothing really happened so I think it may be safe to go out at night.

I've never heard of any terrifying story of crime or harassment in Toulouse. It is a very safe city, I've lived there for around 4 years. I have been followed by men a few times but I asked for help immediately and people were very reactive, sometimes I didn't even needed any help because people were noticing the problem, or they eventually left me alone.

Yes, I feel mostly safe there, but man also can make me feel terrible, sorry I loved to going on a foot walk along the river, unbelievable view! I'm had budget and stand in family house, so no needs for paying rent. Also we liked to pick up packages of food that were about to expire (this helps both save money and preserve nature). And the food there was really good and tasty.

Toulouse is a very safe place, a city with a predominantly young and active population. There are also good restaurants and cafés. The pink color of the city's buildings provides a very pleasant atmosphere.
