It depends where you are/stay. Some areas are very safe (the richest ones) but some are very dangerous and you can easily be subjected to harassing, cat calling and everything. Men can be very insisting, they stare easily. Transportations are not very clean and you need to be very careful I got my phone snatched one time and got stared at more times than I can count. It can be a great city with lots of things to do but you need to be careful as a woman.
Posted: May 28, 2025Depends on the neighborhood but I would say always be careful of pickpockets. Paris is quite safe unless, like any other city, you go to a dangerous neighborhood at night. Besides from being robbed there no actual other risk.

I believe there are certain areas in Paris that are best to avoid at night, but this isn’t the very touristy areas. To be honest Paris itself isn’t dangerous, it’s more the pick pockets which are the worst. In the metros they are very prone to pickpocket, especially line 6 so watch out !!

It depends on the area but I really think Paris is very safe considering how big of a city it is, I very rarely have any problems or have to worry about walking after dark. Of course there is certain areas that are less safe than others but it is very easy to avoid

I’ve been living in Paris for a year and a half, and overall I feel quite safe here. Sometimes on the metro, there can be people who are a bit annoying, like drunk people, but I’ve never experienced anything truly troubling. If I ever feel uncomfortable, I usually just move to another carriage. Even going out at night hasn’t made me feel unsafe or anxious. Of course, if you prefer, you can always choose alternatives like Uber instead of public transport. But from my experience, Paris is generally a safe city to live in, although like in any big city, petty theft such as pickpocketing can happen, so it’s important to stay attentive in order to avoid any problems.

As it’s known, Paris is filled with so many museums and endless cultural activities. Whether you’re into art, history, or just want to explore something new, you’ll always find something interesting happening in the city. There are world-famous museums, but also plenty of smaller, hidden ones that are worth discovering. Another great thing about Paris is that it’s a flat city, like many others in Europe, which makes it really easy to explore on foot. Walking through the streets is honestly one of the best ways to experience it. You get to see the most beautiful parts of the city just by moving from place to place everything is close, and every corner has something charming to offer.

Hello! My name is Manon, I'm French, and I'm currently studying in Paris. I'm naturally very curious, which explains my presence on this app. I love traveling, meeting new landscapes, and meeting new people, despite my introverted nature. I plan to travel around Europe in my twenties and being hosted would be cool. For people who might ask me to be their host at this time. I don't live in Paris, (although I am there during the day) but in the suburbs with my family. I can only host people when my family is not there. Otherwise for anyone arriving in Paris and who does not have any acquaintances there, I would also be happy to make new friends in the capital :) I also visit many Parisian monuments and museums, which means I can recommend and help people visit Paris.
