It’s fairly safe but just watch out for scammers at the famous attractions trying to sell you stuff and if you’re a solo traveler like I was avoiding sitting alone in night this guy just came and sat down next to me at the Eiffel tower as we were watching the light

Depends on the area, really. I always carry a pepper spray just in case and wear high heels because men are intimidated by the sound. Men here catcall women a lot and in bars, it can happen that men are touchy. Slapping men works. No man have ever hit me back though. Not sure if it is because French men are so entitled, they do not expect violence from women.
Posted: June 13, 2025It’s ok, pickpocket can happen and I have few bad experiences but if you be carful it’s ok. I never had bad experiences when I came home after midnight.

know some people feel unsure about safety in Paris ..and yes, like any big city, it has its sides. But I live in the 14th arrondissement, which is super calm. I often take public transport home alone around midnight and have never had any issues. It’s a quiet, easy-going neighborhood with little bakeries, parks, and a real local vibe

The city is overall pretty safe. There is a lot of cat calling but except that I haven't had a lot of really bad experiences with men, they are rarelly really dangerous. However, I'd recommand to be a bit careful at night, some men could follow you. Most of the time there are other people in the street so you are not alone.

Paris is overall safe. I'd say as in any big city there is some level of risk for pickpockets or dangerous men, but staying out of some very specific areas reduces the chance of interaction with them from like 2% to 0%. Just make sure to keep an eye out on your stuff and you should be fine everywhere ! In addition, Parisian people are easy to befriend, and they'll make sure to keep an eye out for you and to make sure that you are and feel safe !

Paris is a beautiful city, you have a lot of things to do !! I didn’t feel safe going solo especially at night so moving in group is better. For the food try to go to some local and non touristic restaurants as they will be cheaper.
Posted: June 12, 2025Experienced: June, 2025i did a solo trip to paris and overall, it was a pretty cool experience. being a french-speaking girl helped a lot — i didn’t struggle with communication, but i still felt a bit invisible sometimes. the city is beautiful, no doubt, and i loved exploring different areas on my own time, especially montmartre and the marais. some people were super nice, others not so much. i didn’t always feel super safe at night, but nothing bad happened. the cafés, museums and walks by the seine made up for the occasional weird vibe. not a dreamy fairytale, but still worth it. 3.8/5!
