If you don't end up in the middle of a protest, you will find Paris to be the best city in the world. Of course, like every city it has its neighborhoods to avoid, and recently pickpocketing has become more common. But it's okay.
Posted: August 16, 2025Paris is pretty safe but just be careful the neighbourhood you go to. Sometimes I get home alone pretty late and I feel safe (calm neighbourhood). For the more complicated areas, as long as you’re with friends you can actually go everywhere. Watch out for pickpockets on busy metro lines like the metro line 1,6,9 and big stations like Châtelet, Champs Élysées, Saint Lazare …

I think Paris isn't the city who has the most of criminality. Of course, there is dangerous people everywhere. However, there is a lot of pickpockets ( i had my phone stole ones) so put your precious things in close bag!

Paris is mostly safe. There are a few neighborhoods and specific streets that I don't want to walk through. But it's perfectly possible to go out late at night and come home alone; I do it often. I just try to avoid small streets and generally look for streets where there are lots of people around. Public transportation is also pretty safe, although there is always a bit of street harassment.
Posted: August 11, 2025I always lived in Paris, so i guess i developped quickly good reflex to protect my safety growing up (like doesn’t talk to men, walk with confidence, look mean and not available at all, be aware of what’s around me, etc), and now, most of the time, i feel really safe here, but i know this is because i’m a local.

Paris can be a very beautiful place to visit if you know where to go. I recommend to do some research in advance and it will be fine. There’re a lot of great restaurants especially Asian and African food is great. And their pastries 🥐 are one of the best things ever. My family chose to go to Disneyland Paris and it was beautiful especially for the younger ones. I recommend it. Be careful at tourist areas. I don’t recommend buying anything from the people on the street. Most of them are trying to scam you and be prepared to spend a few bucks.
