Montpellier is safe in the city center, sometimes you can find some crazy people, but they are not dangerous. There are some neighborhoods that I wouldn't recommend as a woman traveling alone, as Alco, Mosson, and Gambetta. But in general it is a very nice and safe city.

Montpellier is a really beautifully city, old small street but also nice new places. The cultural offer is incredible and many free things to do. You must come to discover and even more easy as we have good local transportations ;)

From my personal experience i feel safe, i’ve heard stories that can make you feel a bit worried but i think it depends on which part of the city you are in and what time you are out, but overall i think i can say it is safe
Posted: March 10, 2024Montpellier is one of my favourite cities in France :) Travelling solo there was a lot of fun. I really appreciated that the city is close to the sea & that the people are really relaxed & open-minded.

I love being in an intercultural environment, I find it exciting, and it always makes me grow. I love and I have the chance to travel, and I'm usually on my own, so I'm very happy to be part of this solidarity group. What esle? I'm French. I'm a social worker and a sociolinguist. Hi! Born and raised in Poland but living in France for almost 15 years. I love to travel, discover other cultures and eat! I am an easy going person with a brain full of jokes. I like meeting knew people and listen to their stories. Simply love: animals, books, movies, rock music, long walks, nature and discovering cities. Yeah clubbing is fun, but have you ever tried silent disco? Me neither so let's do it!
