Freiburg is a young and safe City. You can easily Walk at nighttime. Therme is only one aria to avoid in the dark: Dreisam. Its a River through Freiburg and many rapes happened there in the nighttime. Public transportation is safe, except of some weird people Talking to you, but they wouldn‘t touch you.

I live in Freiburg and can honestly say it’s a safe, welcoming city — especially for solo female travelers. The vibe is relaxed and open-minded, with lots of students, creatives, and international visitors around. It’s super easy to get around by foot, bike, or tram, and even late-night rides usually feel fine. Nature is right at your doorstep, and the city center offers cozy cafés, good conversations, and a sense of calm you don’t often find elsewhere.

Hello, I think my town firework price is a very safe place besides on what side of the city you are maybe I would not go to places like Weingarten but all in one beautiful place and you can feel safe here

It’s a beautiful city with many families. Ofc there are some drug areas, but the police is very active in these areas. The only think you should be worried about is your bike being stolen. Never happend to me though.

Freiburg is a really lovely city. Like any touristic city you should be attentive at touristic places, be mindful around the Stühlinger Park behind the train station and don’t walk alone at night. I heard about a few people being kidnapped or raped at night walking at the Dreisam. Freiburg has a great concept called “FrauenTaxi” where every woman can call a cap for 7€ in the night no matter where to go to. That helps to stay safe.
Posted: April 7, 2025I felt very welcomed by the sister that hosted me, that became a friend. I loved the forest all around and that is very accessible with public transportation. I really had great time. The market around the cathedral is lovely and you can find local interesting products. There is awareness about gluten free needs in most places I have had food and I found people lovely, relaxed and friendly.

Hey, I am Dina :) I live in southern Germany, I'm 18 years old and about to graduate highschool this summer. I am currently planning an interrail trip to Eastern Europe this fall which I'm very much looking forward to :D I really adore the idea of this app and am right now looking for people who would like to host and/or meet up with me and my friend on our trip. I would also love to host people in the future, but since I'm still living with my family that's right now not really possible :/
