Is Freiburg im Breisgau Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

I was surprised by her big heart. We talked a lot that night, she gave me confidence with only few words. I felt very welcomed by the sister that hosted me, that became a friend. I loved the forest all around and that is very accessible with public transportation. I really had great time. The market around the cathedral is lovely and you can find local interesting products. There is awareness about gluten free needs in most places I have had food and I found people lovely, relaxed and friendly.

Personally I felt save every time I was in Freiburg. But during nights I would recommend to be at least with somebody else as Long as you are Not in the Main Town. Moreover I love Freiburg, the people are open minded and very friendly:)

I would say it is a pretty safe town. I usually feel pretty safe, except maybe when I'm alone at the train station at night, but also there I never made really bad experiences. Besides some creepy/weird men as there are unfortunately everywhere. The only thing is that there is a lot of bicycle thieves happening.

I feel pretty safe here bit a lot of my female frinds are getting comments in the night time but idk if there is a city on this word where men just leave woman alone… Criminal rate isnt high and its a pretty left sided city with lots of people willing to help in unsecure situations.

At Day it is mostly safe in the whole city, especially in the city center you don't need to worry at all. At night, like everywhere, it is a bit different, but still not super dangerous (nothing has ever happed to me personally). Especially the Stühlinger Kirchplatz I would avoid at night.

Freiburg is very safe! The criminal rate is not that high and as a woman, I feel pretty safe. If you are on a night out you should still be with someone else. If you don’t have anybody to go home with then call an “Frauentaxi” this is a taxi just for woman who need to go home at night.

One of the safest cuties in Germany. Very friendly and welcoming . Most young people can speak other languages including English and French. In summer we have the best weather. Nature surrounds the city.
