There are some sketchy areas, especially near the trainstation, so I avoid going there or through the parks after dark. During the day they are perfectly safe and I walk around there regularly. Other than that, I consider Elmshorn a safe place.

Elmshorn is safe, just near the train station are some weird people sometimes but I’ve never experienced something bad happening to me. Overall it’s a decent place but there’s not that mich to do, but Hamburg isn’t far away from Elmshorn.
