It all depends on the part of the city- the old town and some other parts might be full of drunkards after dark, where other parts are bustling with life and are quite safe. Overall I'd recommend not to walk alone if you're worried. Locals usually won't bother you if they see you're from abroad but that depends

I feel very safe in all the polish cities. Polish society is still very patriarchal though and I have the awareness that not everyone respects women here so I am trying be aware if my surroundings at night.

Its a calm city, a lot better than East Europe like Belarus or West Europe like France. You dont have to be worried about walking home alone, but homosexuals can feel diffrently if acting very obviously or billing.
Posted: February 12, 2025It's better not to walk alone on less populated streets. Nothing scary has ever happened to me here. There are many people everywhere, so you won't be alone most of the time. Overall, it's a safe place to travel to.
Posted: February 1, 2025I wouldn’t say Poznan is dangerous city. It’s in Poland which is safety in general. I go out a lot and never been attacked or even followed. People react when something bad is happening. Of course I do not like to walk alone in the night but even with my headphones I feel safe and pretty confident.

Poznań was on the 1st place on best places to lived in Poland list. People here are very kind and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to visit and spend some time exploring the city! You are always welcome!
Posted: January 11, 2025of course, unfortunately, there are crimes or harassment here, as in most European cities, but in general you feel safe. but I do not advise walking alone at night anyway. sometimes people who like to drink a lot can harass Ukrainians here both during the day and at night. so in Poznan you should be careful and have pepper spray with you just in case. it is better to avoid the Wilda area and the train station at night
Posted: January 5, 2025Poznan is one of the safest cities in Poland in my opinion. It's very safe to walk after dark, there are no robbers, and it's safe for LGBTQ people as well (this is like a "queer capital" of Poland).

Poznań is a fairly small city, so the crime rate is also low. Of course, there are sometimes incidents, but they are resolved very quickly. People are friendly and understanding, if you don't like something, so don't be afraid to say it right away. Overall, I feel confident here

Poznan is a very small, yet very peaceful and beautiful city to visit, if you visit Poland. It is not so touristy, however packed with many amazing things to see. I visited this town with my two friends (both woman) and we felt safer than anywhere else even in the middle of the night. The people are very friendly here, and the prices are low.

Hi! My name is Magdalena, I'm a 19 years old psychology student living in Poznan, Poland 🇵🇱 (a 500k city in the western part of the country). I love travelling across the world, discovering new places and learning about different cultures, preferably while meeting great people and making memories that will stay with me for a long time😊 I'm usually a very active type of traveller - I'm always down for walking tours and sports activities, but also visiting art galleries/ museums to learn about the history of the place that I'm visiting.🎨 I'm more than happy to give advice for anyone who would like to travel to Poland, since I've been in almost every major city, so feel free to ask for anything! ❣ I'm not always available for hosting, but I'm happy to share some space and spend some time together if you ask in advance.
