In general it can appear very safe but there are nobody on the streets after 9/10 p.m. so it's kind of weird to walk around in the evening. Also after 9 p.m. traffic lights are off and street lights are dim in general.

Olsztyn is my hometown, I lived there for 20 years, also during my crazy times as a growing up teenager experiencing my first parties. It is not a very big city and is generally very safe. I wouldn't recommend going to the neighbourhood called Zatorze during the night, but other places are alright.
Posted: June 13, 2024As a young woman and a student who is living abroad for the first time in this city, I feel very safe. It is a city where students generally live. For local people, the day ends quickly in the evenings, so it is not crowded outside, but walking alone dies not feel unsafe.
