It’s safe in Bialystok I go alone at nights and I don’t feel not good it’s okay and I love poland for that safety. You don’t have to be worried walking around like in other countries even when I was with my friend in other countries we don’t felt that safe like in Poland
Posted: July 22, 2025As for a woman in her early 20s going out is met with barely anything really. I had situations of being catcalled, but nothing harmful came after. I move by bus a lot and never had a dangerous situation with anyone. Going out for drinks on the weekends is not that safe. Depending on which bar or pub you go to you could be approached by strangers, in clubs it’s way more common. Most of the times when I was approached at a pub were harmless, although there weren’t much of such instances, one or 2 times a man made me feel uncomfortable. Going home at night is mostly safe, depending on which part of town you’re in though. Situations that are the most dangerous are soccer events, which are common here. Fans are loud, mostly men various ages, they stay out on the town till late night hours. Whenever there was a soccer match I knew to be careful, even going to the local store. They never attacked me, but they talk, yell at you for attention, catcall, ask questions- generally unpleasant and annoying.

Posted: May 11, 2025To be honest Białystok is a pretty safe city. During the day there's mostly absolutely nothing you should be worried about, unpleasant situations happen very rarely then. I have lived there for my whole life and maybe twice I've been cat called by a stranger during a day there. When it comes to the night I would recommend being a bit more cautious as especially during the weekends there's a lot of drunk people near the city center exiting the bars or the clubs... But I haven't ever really worried about anything serious happening to me. Maybe 3 times in life I really had a threatening situation during the night there as someone followed me home once, a guy once tried stopping me on the street by grabbing me and once I was a witness of a serious street fight. Other than that I would not recommend going to dark places during the night and stick to the city center as you never know who's lurking around in the dark areas and you may meet unpleasant people there. Overall I'd say it's a pretty safe city.
Posted: March 23, 2025i think its a safe city. its not very big so not many things can happen. there isnt a lot of "bad" people. most of the parts of the city are pretty quiet and chill. i feel very safe and just good here
Posted: February 5, 2025Bialystok is safe for both residents and visitors. We have low crime rate and friendly, nice people. Just during football matches I’d avoid drunk and loud man on the street who often look for a fight. Overall, Białystok is a safe city, but as with any travel destination, it’s important to remain aware of your surroundings and take standard safety precautions.

It's a very safe place where you can start your first solo trip. If you are a backpacker like me, it's a really cheap destination to begin your travel journey. That's what I was doing - it's my first baby step. I felt very safe, didn't spend too much money, the food is delicious, locals are friendly. I really enjoyed it.
