It is a beautiful city and everyone should see it! Amazing views, historical places and night life! Public transportation is so easy to figure out!! People are friendly (especially the students). You feel safe even if it is 03.00 am in the morning!

Krakow is a safe city. Walking alone at night can be scary in your head, but I've never experienced any harassment. You can find lots of foreigners at night in The Main Square (mostly British people who came to party) that are sometimes loud and may say something to you as a woman, but it's nothing dangerous.
Posted: July 23, 2025I am now working as a intern in krakow. It's my first days, so I am not completely aware of the safety but for now it is really safe. I did not come across any harassment or any other uncomfortable stuffs
Posted: July 11, 2025It is a safe city, but especially as a woman you need to be careful when it’s dark outside! Don’t go alone, but besides that it is rly safe city<3 One of my favorites in Europe and Poland. When I’m going at night with my friend I’m not afraid
Posted: July 10, 2025It's safer than other cities in Poland where I've been. You can come home whenever you render appropriate, go to bars and pubs, take cabs, no worries at all. No one has ever said or done anything to stress me about my safety while I'm outside. There's only the matter of some street fights sometimes that you'd better stay away from. It's normally caused by drunks, which is seen everywhere in the world I suppose. Other than that, it's all cool.

I would say overall Krakow is safe place for women. I feel ok walking in the night. I don’t use public transport at night anymore but when I was still using it the only issue was with drunk people shouting. I’ve seen situations where people were aggressive towards people with darker skin but it was always men.

I traveled to Krakow solo and felt completely safe the whole time, even at night. The city is very walkable and easy to navigate. I stayed at a budget-friendly hostel near the Old Town, which was perfect for meeting other travelers. Highlights: Wawel Castle, Schindler’s Factory, and a day trip to Auschwitz (powerful and emotional—book in advance). For food, I recommend Milkbar Tomasza and trying zapiekanka in Kazimierz. Public transport is reliable, but I mostly walked. I spent about 40 EUR/day, including meals, museum entries, and transport. My itinerary: Day 1 – Old Town + Wawel; Day 2 – Auschwitz; Day 3 – Kazimierz + Vistula river walk. Krakow is perfect for solo travelers!

Absolutely loved everything. The food. The scenery. The clean streets. The river. The Christmas decorations. The cathedral. The palace. I liked Auschwitz for history. There is lots to do and see. You could do it really cheap and it’s cheap when you’re there. Lots of tours too!
