It is quite safe in Krakow. Sometimes, I walk home alone after meeting friends in the evening, and I do feel safe. Of course, I'm always looking around if anything looks suspicious, but generally, I feel safe. A couple of my friends had uncomfortable situations with men in public, but after responding loudly and firmly, they were left alone.
Posted: July 19, 2024There are free walking tours in the main square for foreigners. The city is walkable. Kraków is very safe city especiall at night. You can use public transport without hesitation. Bolt with option only for women is also available.
Posted: July 16, 2024I think Krakow is generally safe and easy to travel to,it's not a lot of crime here. The levels of crime are low, and there is not much risk for women travelling alone. That said, it won't harm to take the usual safety steps to make sure the trip goes smoothly. The only exception is that the local football clubs don't like each other. But if you avoid wearing any opposing fan gear near the stadiums, you'll be okay.
Posted: July 13, 2024Overall it's really safe city and people there are kind. I've lived there for a long time and never heard of any serous crime happening or anything. As a woman I feel safe there but you need to be careful if you're using public transport at late hours because that's when some weird people show up, but those are mostly drunk people.

In general there's safe here. I've been walking along at night many times and always there was safe. Never been stolen or worried here about my safety here. Of course, you have to close your flat and keep your money in safe place, but if you keep this minimal safety level all should be good.
Posted: July 10, 2024It's safe, but it's better to walk without headphones at night and avoid dark alleys, but overall I didn't have many bad situations there. Generally people are friendly, but I had some bad experience in the trams at night, with some guys being too friendly, but whenever I walked away, they left me alone.
Posted: July 8, 2024For me, Krakow is my hometown. I love this city and I think it is very safe compared to others. During the day there is nothing to worry about. I believe that at night or in the evening you may feel a bit unsafe in dark streets, walking alone, so be very careful and preferably go with someone.
Posted: July 7, 2024Rather safety, but of course in the most touristy areas be aware of minor crimes and thefts. Also, the market square at night can be filled with drunk, foreign tourists. It is kinda a local gossip that sometimes they poke women and/or are rather noisy and unpleasant.
Posted: July 2, 2024It's ok. If you go to Rynek or city center where night parties and pubs gathered, you may face some drunk people. But generally I never had any problems with anyone at night or during the day. I didn't face pickpockets.I lost my items several times (incl phone) and could return them from public places. But it can be only my experience
Posted: June 29, 2024I’d say that it’s pretty safe. I don’t feel under danger when I’m coming home in the dark and when I’m outside. The only thing that can be discomforting is catcalling which unfortunately is common in public areas :( You have to be careful when there’s a football match because some men can be aggressive.

I stayed 15 minutes away from the Main Square. I felt extremely safe in this city as this was my first solo trip. I would definitely recommend Auschwitz, Salt Mine, Zakopane and Oscar’s Factory. There are all different kinds of restaurants in the main square. You can walk around the town very easy. There are buses, trams, Uber, bolt and taxis all available to travel to different parts.

I felt so safe and I travelled with my sister. I would recommend the salt mine tour combined with the auchwitz and Birkenau guided tour. I travelled for the Christmas markets in December 2021 but felt like this city had so much more to offer. Cute little quirky streets round the whole old town centre. I would love to go back!

I spent a day in Krakow, and it was quite an experience. The highlight was visiting the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The underground tunnels and chambers carved from salt were fascinating, especially the Chapel of St. Kinga with its detailed salt sculptures and chandeliers. After the mine, I walked around Krakow. The city’s architecture is stunning. The Wawel Castle by the Vistula River and the medieval buildings in the Old Town, especially around the Main Market Square and St. Mary’s Basilica, were impressive and beautiful. However, I wasn’t a fan of the local food. It was too heavy and greasy for my taste. The service in restaurants was also disappointing—slow and inattentive.
Posted: July 10, 2024Experienced: May, 2024People are usually very early drunk and also most of them are gona shout to you. Always walk with people from hostel or groups to skip that . There are a lot of bar crawling events and a lot of party hostels keep that in mind when you book your accommodation. Most of them are open to be joined so consider of booking a normal hostel in case you are not 100% in to that

Hi, I'm Natalia and I'm 19 yo. I study in Kraków, but I am from a small city near Zakopane. I am open to meeting new amazing people 😍

I'm eighteen years old, who is adventure-seeker. My young age is the reason why I recently started to break new grounds in cheap travelling. It is my oyster now, as well as a responsibility. Whole world seems to be compelling, so I need to experience and see as much as possible of it. Now, few words about me: I'm interested in the human body and I am going to be a physiotherapist. I've always trained many sports, which taught me teamwork and compromise. I've been a vegetarian for five years and love cooking; I know many recipes and kitchen "tricks". I love camping, meeting new people and mountains.
