I never feel worried about my safety during the daytime and there are always some people on the streets, at least around the town centre, so you feel more comfortable walking around in the dark. Same with the public transport - there are safety cameras installed inside the vehicles and when anything suspicion is going on, fellow passengers or drivers are usually quick to react
Posted: January 20, 2025I live in kraków all my life and i never had any bad sitiuation. Its very very very safe. I travel a lot and never felt safer in any place than in kraków!💓 Public transport is clean and safe. We don't have any criminal district. You can go out at night, no worries but remember about classic safety rules like don't leaving ur drink alone on the table
Posted: January 20, 2025Kraków is a relatively safe city. Most neighbourhoods are comfortable, even at night, but probably mostly for locals who know the area. The night buses are always full of people, so even I use this option when going back from a party, and I feel quite safe. Of course the walk from bus station home is another story- as a woman I’m scared either way, I always carry some form of self defence. Nevertheless for solo female travelling, I can recommend my hometown.
Posted: January 16, 2025Krakow is really tourist friendly. There’s a lot of main attractions where’s a lot of people who’ll always try to help with anything. In center or more crowded places you may find some homeless people but they’re not a problem they won’t do anything to you sometimes they might ask you for money but just say no and go.
Posted: January 12, 2025I feel very safe here because in the city there is always cameras, and its very hard to find someone Who can disturb you. I feel safer than how i felt when i lived in italy so there is not a lot to worry abiut
Posted: January 5, 2025I would say it’s pretty safe! In public areas where there are some people around it’s very safe. If you are alone after dark you should be cautious - as everywhere else - but personally, in my whole life, I’ve never been harassed here.
Posted: January 3, 2025There are lots of security cameras in the city. People here are taking care of each other, even strangers. Police is patrolling the city regularly - also at night. Public transport is monitored and if something happens a lot of people would help or defend someone from the danger

Perfectly safe, nothing bad has ever happened to me. The only inconvenience in terms of safety may be drunk men in the old town on Friday night but there's always a lot of people so it's still not that concerning

Kraków is full of tourist, but still safe. Great sity for solo traveling. Even at night when I go back to my home I find worry at all, just going without worries. Public transport is also safe at this time

Poland is generally safe as a country. Cracow is a big city so it is not the safest but still okay. You can hear about some attacks or assaults mostly at clubs when people are drunk. It is better to stay away from nightlife especially near city centre. Beside that generally it is very safe and comfortable.

I really liked this town and I'm dreaming every day to come back and walk those streets again. This city is a dream come true tbh, the views, food and attractions are ON THE TOP, literally. Breads similar to bagels, called obważanki are amazing.

Denmark
Krakow was my first solo trip ever and I’ve had half a day to explore the city between my flight connection to Aarhus. It turned out to be not as scary as I expected and although I was too petty to stay in the hotel for only 5 hours and decided to sleep on a bench in an airport, before, I had plenty of time to roam around and see AMAZING places. The thing I liked the most was the mix of old historical and contemporary architecture. Then goes the safety overall, I not one single time felt unsafe or tried to put my phone deeper in my pocket haha :). The prices were slightly lower than in Denmark, where I live right now. Overall, I underestimated Poland and next time I will go to (maybe?) Warsaw with my architect-student boyfriend to explore different corners of this beautiful country together! 🤟

Hey! I'm Kinga and want to spend my twenties travelling and making good memories with friends all over the world. My first time solo traveling was last summer and I was interrailing over Europe, the best part of it was meeting other travellers so I can't wait to meet y'all!
