for me, crack is pretty safe because nothing ever happened to me and my friends, but I heard of some stories about not good situations with other people, but that’s how it is in almost every place in the world at least at Poland so you know there are cameras there are all the people and police so you don’t have to worry

Kraków is quite safe but drunk people during the night can be a burden. It is better to stay alert in the public transportation regarding because of the pickpocketing. But overall you can feel safe going around
Posted: February 7, 2025From the local perspective, I’d say it’s safe. There were many nights where I was going home alone at night after parties and never had any troubles (only drunk guys people might start talking to you). Never got robbed, public transport is very safe (at night also). Overall it’s good to live there as a woman.
Posted: January 24, 2025Can’t speak for small villages surrounding Cracow but the city itself is fairly safe, at least from my 18 years of experience. Sure there are occasional crazy people screaming random stuff in public and homeless men catcalling but it’s not common. Depends on the hour and part of town but it’s a safe city. Personally, I’ve never felt unsafe other than coming home at dark through a small street. But where’s people- you’re safe. I remember once walking through quarter of the city cause it was so late I’d have to wait half an hour for a tram. I was wary of the cars and listened closely, keys held tightly between my fingers. But the one man who happened to walk in the same direction as I did was being purposefully noisy, trying to let me know he’s not creeping from behind. So maybe I’ve just always been lucky, catcalling being worst that’s happened to me but also no one I know experienced anything worse than that.

Kraków and Poland is really safe place i think we have one of the better level of security in Europe! You don’t really need to take care of your phone or Monney , you can go by night for walking or public transport alone there is no bad feeling and bad situation ;) !
Posted: January 22, 2025I love Kraków and Poland overall, I've been living here for few years and I feel safe all the time. I work often very late and I was never afraid to go back home by walk. Nothing weird or scacy ever happend to me.
Posted: January 22, 2025I live in kraków all my life and i never had any bad sitiuation. Its very very very safe. I travel a lot and never felt safer in any place than in kraków!💓 Public transport is clean and safe. We don't have any criminal district. You can go out at night, no worries but remember about classic safety rules like don't leaving ur drink alone on the table
Posted: January 20, 2025Kraków is a relatively safe city. Most neighbourhoods are comfortable, even at night, but probably mostly for locals who know the area. The night buses are always full of people, so even I use this option when going back from a party, and I feel quite safe. Of course the walk from bus station home is another story- as a woman I’m scared either way, I always carry some form of self defence. Nevertheless for solo female travelling, I can recommend my hometown.
Posted: January 16, 2025Krakow is really tourist friendly. There’s a lot of main attractions where’s a lot of people who’ll always try to help with anything. In center or more crowded places you may find some homeless people but they’re not a problem they won’t do anything to you sometimes they might ask you for money but just say no and go.
Posted: January 12, 2025I feel very safe here because in the city there is always cameras, and its very hard to find someone Who can disturb you. I feel safer than how i felt when i lived in italy so there is not a lot to worry abiut

I spent very little money. I flew to Katowice and then took the transportation from the airport to Krakow city where I stayed overnight in a hostel for two nights. I attended a free walking tour that was very interesting and booked the visit in the salt mines, something amazing!

Poland
Krakow is a really nice city to do all kinds of stuff from laying on the beach ( you should visit zakrzówek) to going clubbing (just go to the old town there is a lot of pubs and clubs) You should try "obwarzanek" and pierogis. If you have a lot of time you can go to polish Mountain (zakopane) or visit some historical places like aushitz-birkenau.

Hi, I’m Nina. I’m from Poland, currently living in Krakow. I love travelling, meeting new people, discovering new cultures and cuisine. I like riding a bike, rollerblading, dancing at concerts, but also drinking coffee in charming cafes, reading books and visiting museums. I’m just starting my adventure with solo travelling. If you are passing through Krakow, feel free to write!
