Is Poland safe for solo female travelers?

Poland generally offers a high level of safety for solo female travelers. Polish cities are well policed and have a low crime rate. Streets are typically crowded even late at night, public transportation system is excellent and there are plenty of safe accommodation options. However, just like anywhere, it's always important to maintain common sense precautions, such as avoiding unlit and secluded areas at night and keeping an eye on your belongings at all times.

Katowice, Solo travel

Overall, it was a very nice experience. I arrived very early in the morning, so it was still dark, but the city felt safe and calm. The streets were quiet and peaceful. I walked around until midday and people were kind, relaxed, and helpful. One person even stopped to chat with me, which made the experience feel very welcoming.

solo trip to krakow.. such a beautiful city.. i spent a lot of time in the jewish quarter – loved the street art, the little cafés and the whole atmosphere.. the food was amazing too.. it was winter, so a bit cold, but honestly the city still felt warm in its own way.. would totally go again

Warsaw, Solo travel

Warsaw is one of the calmest capital i have ever been. Felt so safe. It’s not that much expensive as well. People are friendly and public transportation is also cheap as compared to other European countries.

Zakopane, Family travel

My third time in Zakopane - this time with my mom and more for mountains, less for rest. My legs were dead after 6 hours in Hala Gąsienicowa and even more after Dolina Kościeliska. Weather was amazing, lots of people but still comfortable. Food soooo good! I mostly tried polish foods - żurek in bread recommended! My mom loved pierogi (without an s!) If you're looking for hotel there, I can send you a link for Booking.com as I don't remember the name now. We had amazing view for Giewont, balcony and peace for a really low price (Almost nothing!)

I’d say I felt mostly safe because I stayed at a female only hostel. But i also enjoyed the nightlife and everyone was very respectful even though i was sadly dangerously intoxicated:( (was having a bad day)

Czestochowa

I’ve never experienced something unsafe in this city, but there is no place that is 100% safe in the world. Just be careful in some areas, don’t take shortcuts, and you will be good. Take care and don’t get scammed with some holy stuff.

Piaseczna

Very safe, small village with really friendly people. I will not advise to leave there a fancy bike without lock, or keep the car open (border area is known from small crimes like stilling). Keep and eye open while walking during the night in the nearest cities night-bars areas - not crazy dangerous but you can hear some stupid coments. Also poland is generaly not the most friendly place for minorities (like queers or people of colour) most people don’t care but unfortunatelly coments or weird looks can happend

Pysznica

It's literally a village. It's super safe :) There's a city near it so it's quite a big village, but really quiet. To point the pluses, there're also some pretty forests and small lakes, where you can chill a bit in the summer :)

Poznan

It is safe, also at night, people talk to you but they won't do anything dangerous. The only thing unsafe are car crashes, but that's inevitable. I really do feel safe walking there at night. Really great to visit!

Lublin

I’ve lived here for a long time. Lublin is really safe. I didn’t experience any crimes and didn’t really hear of any serious ones, even though of course some thefts happen here. People are pretty helpful here and if you need anything you can always get some help on local facebook groups.

About me

hi, I’m Maja, I’m 19 and I simply love meeting new people and I would love to start traveling outside of Europe, either alone or with someone. During traveling I like to meet locals and spend time actively, for example, on a hike. But I am also open to new things, experiences, sports, places. I'm a little afraid, but i dream of South and Central America, so if you would also like to visit these countries, we can meet and go together :))

About me

Hiii! I'm extremely bad when it comes to the "about me" section 😄 Recently I've been trying to motivate myself to travel and meet new people. I find it a little bit difficult. For almost 2 years I've been working in a TV corporation and I feel my life sparkle is disappearing. That's why I'm pushing to refind excitement in my life. I would love to meet some amazing people here, exchange experiences or just have a good time
