I think Łódź is a relatively safe city. At night you may bump into some intoxicated people, but most of them won't bother you. You may experience cat calling but men usually stop at that. It's best to avoid straining from main streets.

I think that it is quite safe but sometimes we see some dangerous people around us. Especially men in football club t-shirts because they are aggressive I better keep distance from them if you see someone like that
Posted: March 7, 2025Nice and safe for the first time I am here for a week now, it feels safe so far Nobody cares about you and everyone only cares about their business, that is what i felt about lodz in poland for one week stay, of course i will be here more and i will update my comment on it if neeeded
Posted: March 6, 2025Just be careful after dark and don’t go into dark alleys. The city is full of charm, and there’s nothing dangerous here, but you should always stay cautious. Enjoy your time, explore, and take in everything this place has to offer.

This is a big city. In the city center is safe and the same is on the area. There are lots of people everywhere. I cannot remember, when and who would told me about some accident. Here live various people (Erasmus, people form UA or Spain) and they cowork normally.
Posted: January 30, 2025Łódź is quite safe. There is plenty of international students, and there is more people from other countries coming to live here. However, some areas aren’t safe to walk alone for girls. It’s better to have your eyes open.
Posted: January 26, 2025After dark, it's so unsafe here with people drinking and homeless individuals that scare others. We always go with friends and avoid sketchy streets. But overall, Łódź is a fun city, and getting to know cool people can be a blessing.
Posted: January 17, 2025For a while I've been carrying a gas spray with me for safety, but I stopped a few years ago. I feel really safe coming home alone after a night out and it's quite a journey back home, because I live in the suburbs. Really, if you're minding your own business, nobody should mind you.

It's my hometown so it's obvious I feel safe there because I know it well. But often I move at night alone and never happened something dangerous to me. I think it's even safer for women than for men.

I've been in Łódź during the day and I've felt pretty safe. I really recommend visiting the Museum of the City of Łódź, it's one of the best museums I've seen in Poland. I'm definietly thinking about coming back again to see some more cultural and historical landscapes.
Posted: January 30, 2025Experienced: May, 2024I felt quite safe during my visit to Łódź. The city is vibrant and has a lot to offer. A must-visit is Piotrkowska Street, one of the longest commercial streets in Europe, filled with shops, cafes, and street art. The Manufaktura complex is also impressive, with its mix of history, shopping, and dining. For food, I recommend trying traditional Polish dishes at Anatewka or enjoying a modern twist at Gastromachina. If you’re a coffee lover, stop by Kawiarnia Kawa na Ławę. I stayed at a centrally located hotel which was comfortable and provided easy access to main attractions. Public transport in Łódź is well-connected and affordable, with trams and buses running frequently. My budget was moderate—I spent around 150 PLN per day on meals and transport. If you’re planning a visit, set aside time to explore the OFF Piotrkowska area for its unique atmosphere and local shops. Would definitely return!
