In my opinion it is a safe place. Ofc there r places I would not recommend going after dark but I guess it’s common in every cities to avoid some places. I have never been or seen any forms of aggressive harassment whatsoever. Personally I’ve only witnessed drunk/ homeless people talking/starting a conversation but not in a hateful way I would say and all I am saying is from young adult girl perspective.
Posted: January 26, 2025Gdańsk is city full of Young people, especially univesrsity students, lot of Young families and Old people, whlo live in this city their whole life. There are many shops, almost at every corner, you can go inside if you dont feel safe. The police patrols are on streets vert often
Posted: January 20, 2025Overall Gdansk is safe, it depends in which part of the city you are. In the center I fell safer, but when i go to further parts of the city I start to worry. The most parts that are a big NO for me are: Orunia, Letnica, Nowy Port. In the day i don't want to go there. If there is a football game on the stadium i'm more alarmed

Gdańsk is the safest city in Poland. Very tolerant. You can go back at 4 am and noone gonna bother you. It's a very white country and it's also very clean. U can use city scooter to get anywhere and nothing gonna hurt you.
Posted: January 18, 2025It really depends where exactly in Gdańsk are you but I would say it's generally quite safe. Some troubles may be caused by homeless or drunk people but if you avoid it, everything should be fine, I think. Most problems in this city are property damages happening at nights, I don't think random people are at much risk of getting harmed.
Posted: January 6, 2025It’s a safe place but you have to be carefull in some turist places like old town, bus station or beaches because as everywhere you can be robbed. You should avoid Orunia dolna and Kowale area. After all I still feel safe here.
Posted: December 28, 2024I think its fine for tourists i mean people can stare at you angerly but it’s not cuz they hate you, mostly becouse they just have angry stare it’s the way people in poland are. If you will talk to them they are mostly really nice.
Posted: December 28, 2024tbh i feel very safe in Gdansk, and i’d say it goes for Poland overall. It’s a safe country. As a woman, I’m not scared going out by myself, even after dark. So, if you’re a woman and thinking of going to Poland alone and wondering if it’ll be safe - you don’t have to worry, it’s safe
Posted: December 25, 2024Gdańsk is my hometown where I live and study. I took part in two erasmus exchanges (one semester in Munich and the other one in Dortmund). In comparison to this cities ( especially Dortmund which I don’t feel its too safe) I feel like Poland in generally is a quite safe place to live or to visit. Im not worried about going out in the night or being attacked by anyone. I recommend it to everyone!

I think that Poland is generally safe. I've always felt safe in Gdansk and heard many similar opinions. I've been walking even after dark many times and never had any dangerous situations, so Gdansk may be one of the best options.

I lived in Warsaw, Poland for 1 year and had the opportunity to visit many cities. Gdansk is a city by the sea among the Polish cities. The city is very beautiful, especially if you like the structure of the cities in Northern Europe and the old towns. Compared to other European cities, Londonia is cheaper. The currency is Zloty and it is a cheaper city than the capital Warsaw. But I went there with a friend in December and it was incredibly cold. Since it is by the sea, the wind coming from the sea increases the coldness felt incredibly. I have also seen this city in the summer. I definitely recommend you to go there. There will be many activities to do and it will be easier to travel. The people seemed a bit cold to me. Apart from that, we stayed in an Airbnb 15 minutes away from the city center and unfortunately I was not very pleased. Apart from that, Poland is very nice. It is a safe country. I feel safer than I have ever felt in my life. I love it so much with everything. So definitely go there, but I recommend you choose it in the summer.

Poland is in my opinion very safe country. Gdansh is beautiful city full of galleries, pubs, caffes and people there mind their own business. I had no problem with anything. Olny there are no shops open after 8pm, which i am not used to, but if you buy food for breakfast during the day, you are safe;)

Hi! 👩🎓I am a 23-year-old management student living in Gdańsk since birth. 🌍I love traveling and have managed to visit 29 countries so far, with Italy being the country I've visited the most. I adore Italian food, culture, and the amazing people there—not to mention the wonderful weather. 🦮In my free time, I enjoy walking with my three dogs and exploring new places, so I know quite a few interesting walking paths around Gdańsk. 🇪🇸I love expanding my knowledge and am currently learning Spanish. 🚙Additionally, I enjoy reading all kinds of books, from fantasy to true crime and young adult. In my free time, I also build Lego sets and deepen my knowledge of automotive topics. 🧘♀️I also like practicing yoga and spending time with my loved ones over a cup of my favorite coffee.
