I would say that Gdańsk in front of the rest European cities is really safe place. I wouldn’t be worried that much of being murdered, kidnapped or raped. However there is a chance to be sexually harassed - by words and actions, but in dangerous neighborhoods like down town, Orunia, stogi, especially after dark.

I’ve been living here since 2021 and since the very beginning I’m feeling safe. I walk alone in dark, very often use public transport. I’m not worried about wearing skirts etc.
Posted: May 19, 2025I live there since birth and i think its pretty safe. From 6am to 9/10pm i dont even think about dangerous situations. I never had any dangerous situation at night, but after 10pm be vigilant and maybe dont walk alone in the middle of the night. Public transport is very safe and if you want to feel even safer than stand/sit on the front next to the driver ;)
Posted: May 13, 2025Overall I’d say the city is safe, there are shady people you see in the main city sometimes acting out of the ordinary or weird types looking for a fight, but on the daily basis it’s not bad here, although I don’t always trust our police to do much when something does happen. But to be completely fair after 4 years living here while studying I haven’t been in a situation that required police involvement. And I always got home alright late in the night.
Posted: May 6, 2025Gdańsk is my hometown, and I’ve never felt unsafe here as a woman. Of course, it’s always important to stay aware—just be smart, avoid any suspicious situations, and you’ll be more than fine here! I hope you will enjoy your statement here

I lived in Warsaw, Poland for 1 year and had the opportunity to visit many cities. Gdansk is a city by the sea among the Polish cities. The city is very beautiful, especially if you like the structure of the cities in Northern Europe and the old towns. Compared to other European cities, Londonia is cheaper. The currency is Zloty and it is a cheaper city than the capital Warsaw. But I went there with a friend in December and it was incredibly cold. Since it is by the sea, the wind coming from the sea increases the coldness felt incredibly. I have also seen this city in the summer. I definitely recommend you to go there. There will be many activities to do and it will be easier to travel. The people seemed a bit cold to me. Apart from that, we stayed in an Airbnb 15 minutes away from the city center and unfortunately I was not very pleased. Apart from that, Poland is very nice. It is a safe country. I feel safer than I have ever felt in my life. I love it so much with everything. So definitely go there, but I recommend you choose it in the summer.

Hi! 👩🎓I am a 23-year-old management student living in Gdańsk since birth. 🌍I love traveling and have managed to visit 29 countries so far, with Italy being the country I've visited the most. I adore Italian food, culture, and the amazing people there—not to mention the wonderful weather. 🦮In my free time, I enjoy walking with my three dogs and exploring new places, so I know quite a few interesting walking paths around Gdańsk. 🇪🇸I love expanding my knowledge and am currently learning Spanish. 🚙Additionally, I enjoy reading all kinds of books, from fantasy to true crime and young adult. In my free time, I also build Lego sets and deepen my knowledge of automotive topics. 🧘♀️I also like practicing yoga and spending time with my loved ones over a cup of my favorite coffee.
