Gdańsk is my hometown, and I’ve never felt unsafe here as a woman. Of course, it’s always important to stay aware—just be smart, avoid any suspicious situations, and you’ll be more than fine here! I hope you will enjoy your statement here

There were many occasions when I would walk late at night in dark places with barely any people and nothing bad happened and there were no suspicious people except for drunk men who tend to have aggressive behaviour but mostly with their language, I''ve never met with one that would harm anyone, they're just pretty pissed at everything and obviously they lose the sense of boundaries but only regarding talking like they'd ask uncomfortable questions. There are some men who talk to you on the bus stops in a weird way but if you ignore them or set boundaries they usually give up on the talk. Overall I would say it's pretty safe if you're not going into shady places alone (like the forest at night) but good people help if they see weird stuff happening
Posted: May 1, 2025I’ve heard that people feel safe in Gdansk. If we are talking about getting robbed etc. I’ve never experienced that in my city so yeah, it’s pretty nice here. But as a woman if I hadn’t have my dog, I wouldn’t stand there. My dog saved me a couple times maybe sometimes I even didn’t notice. I would never go alone to the centre of the city at night.

Overall very safe. Streaks are well lit and people are friendly. There is a bit of a girls code, so you see something, you say something. Generally nothing to fear, lots of people after dark so no pressure to go home and a opportunity to spend entire night on outings, especially bars
Posted: April 16, 2025Gdansk is such a peaceful place for a woman if you want to make solo travel. However still you need to be careful about going outside a night especially if you are alone sometimes you can see drunk people at the corners they are not harmful at all. You had better to be careful

Gdansk, Poland is one of the safest places for especially women. I love living here. I can go outside anytime, it doesn’t matter if it’s 2 in the morning. You’ll never ever feel frightened here. So come and explore here anytime you can.

I think it’s depends. Sometimes it’s kinda weird city. I think it’s safe city, you can walk alone in centrum and no one bothers you, but you can meet with fight between two men but u are safe. I live here almost 2 years and I never felt like I was in danger
Posted: February 14, 2025Gdańsk is a pretty safe city, one doesn’t hear a lot about bad stuff happening here, just like once or twice from acquaintances, but neither me or friends of mine haven’t experienced any type of assault. Of course as everywhere there will be weird people, but compared to other cities I’ve been into Gdańsk is pretty safe.

Safety in Gdańsk differs by districts. I’d stay clear of Orunia and Nowy Port. In Śródmieście, Wrzeszcz and Brzeźno you just need to stay clear of the usual tourist traps. Other districts are pretty much safe, but during the nighttime there is a distinct type of public transit (It’ll be marked with the letter N, for example the N1 bus) that in my opinion you need to be aware of. It’s not dangerous per se, but it’s better to keep an eye on your belongings in there.

I lived in Warsaw, Poland for 1 year and had the opportunity to visit many cities. Gdansk is a city by the sea among the Polish cities. The city is very beautiful, especially if you like the structure of the cities in Northern Europe and the old towns. Compared to other European cities, Londonia is cheaper. The currency is Zloty and it is a cheaper city than the capital Warsaw. But I went there with a friend in December and it was incredibly cold. Since it is by the sea, the wind coming from the sea increases the coldness felt incredibly. I have also seen this city in the summer. I definitely recommend you to go there. There will be many activities to do and it will be easier to travel. The people seemed a bit cold to me. Apart from that, we stayed in an Airbnb 15 minutes away from the city center and unfortunately I was not very pleased. Apart from that, Poland is very nice. It is a safe country. I feel safer than I have ever felt in my life. I love it so much with everything. So definitely go there, but I recommend you choose it in the summer.

Poland is in my opinion very safe country. Gdansh is beautiful city full of galleries, pubs, caffes and people there mind their own business. I had no problem with anything. Olny there are no shops open after 8pm, which i am not used to, but if you buy food for breakfast during the day, you are safe;)

I'm an artist and animator. I live in Gdańsk until 12th of May. I like being a guide and showing people more alternative locations of this city. I'm not into drinking or partying hard but I like to meet new people and joke about terrible music. I have interests of 12 year old boy and middle aged lady I'm moving to Malta soon and I need new friends/roommate/place to stay as well so any help will be appreciated.
