Is Warsaw safe for solo female travelers?

Warsaw, like most of Poland, is generally safe for solo female travelers. The city is well-lit, the locals are friendly and willing to help, there is a low general crime rate and an effective police force. Appropriate precautions - as you would in your home country like avoiding dark, isolated places at night and keeping an eye on your belongings in crowded spaces, will enhance your safety. However, it's still important to stay cautious, especially at night. Warsaw's safety is boosted by its amazing public transportation system which gives you easy and safe transport options at all times.

Warsaw is one of the calmest capital i have ever been. Felt so safe. It’s not that much expensive as well. People are friendly and public transportation is also cheap as compared to other European countries.

Group travel

I felt really safe during the trip, it's a really beautiful city. Definitely going for a next trip again. The people are very friendly and there are many different activities to do, also in the night time.

I had a great time in Warsaw and thought the city was super safe and easy to navigate. I ended up taking several Bolt taxis and never felt unsafe in any of them. The public transportation was also very clean and easy to understand. The Uprising Museum was probably my favorite thing I did and I also enjoyed walking around the old city and some of the parks. Oh and I made sure to eat a ton of pierogis, which were all delicious.

For me, Warsaw has felt safe and comfortable to live in. I can walk around the city, explore new neighborhoods, and just enjoy the atmosphere without really worrying. People are respectful, the streets feel calm, and there’s a sense of order that makes it easy to relax and settle in. It’s the kind of place where you can live your life normally and feel at ease doing it.

Generally Poland is one of the safiest countries. Warsaw is the capitol, so there's may arrive different kinds of people but especially in the centre is a lot of police. I almost everyday come back home late in night and never anything dangerous happened.

Warsaw is usually very safe for women, also for solo travellers. However, as in any major cities, basic safety precautions are recommended. Some neighbourhoods, especially late-night, might be less safe.

I think it's a very safe city. I've lived here for some time now. Never had any dangerous situation. The only "dangerous" era is Nowy Świat street on the weekends night. There's always a lot of drunk people and some arguments might appear. I think you can meet with that at every party/bar region. Besides that everything is good. I feel safe walking around at night, using public communication or talking to random people on the streets.

About me

Hiii! I'm extremely bad when it comes to the "about me" section 😄 Recently I've been trying to motivate myself to travel and meet new people. I find it a little bit difficult. For almost 2 years I've been working in a TV corporation and I feel my life sparkle is disappearing. That's why I'm pushing to refind excitement in my life. I would love to meet some amazing people here, exchange experiences or just have a good time

About me

Hi! I'm Oriana — originally from Romania, and I've been living in Poland for the past 3 years. I don’t speak Polish fluently yet, but I understand a little (around A1 level – yes, very basic, I know 😂). I’m happy to host you, or show you around or explore together. While I’m not into nightlife that much, I don’t know the trendiest bars or clubs, but I have both Polish and international friends who can help with great local tips. 😌 If you have any questions, feel free to ask! 😊 PS: My cat is not living with me. ❤️ #Erasmus Alumni 🌎 #Alumni YouthPass Program
