Safe place for a small woman to live with no fear. It's safe to walk around by yourself. I have lived in Portugal and this feels safer. People are polite and help you if you get lost, but even then they don't come too close.
Posted: February 8, 2025It's pretty peaceful here, but as a woman I still have this unexplainable fear everywhere. It's definitely more unsafe for non polish people, but honestly it will shows up only verbally in most cases

it’s a pretty safe city but in the night you better not show up alone in some places here🫣 i’ve seen people fighting, drug addicts and some men looking at me in the public transport but even though it is like this, i think Katowice and the cities, towns etc. near this city are pretty safe overall💕
Posted: December 24, 2024Looks not so good estetically, but its safe. I feel comfortable coming back home at night as a woman. You have to be always caferful tho, because no matter where you are something can happen. You can go

Nothing ever happened to me personally, but I would rate the safety of the city 6/10. I heard some stories of robbery and harrassment but never experienced it myself. I also live in the city center and I feel pretty safe walking home at night. However it might be not that safe in the other parts of the city.
Posted: August 1, 2024Katowice over all are a pretty safe place you just need to be carefull around the center after dark also on Mariacka street since its filled with clubs it can be pretty dangerous just remember to be smart and it will be okay!

Poland is generally safe, especially non-tourist destinations like Katowice. There are many parks and attractions but there is no reason to worry about your safety. I wouldn’t recommend visiting Załęże and Szopienice but the rest is absolutely fine.

I am a Finnish woman living in Katowice. I'm spontaneous and social. I love good talks and I like to see a good side in every situation
