Poznan is a very small, yet very peaceful and beautiful city to visit, if you visit Poland. It is not so touristy, however packed with many amazing things to see. I visited this town with my two friends (both woman) and we felt safer than anywhere else even in the middle of the night. The people are very friendly here, and the prices are low.

Solo travel experience

Poznań is wonderful. I was there for 3 nights and I had a fantastic time. It was not at all a tourist-oriented place, their food is really good and I felt very safe there. Additionally, their colorful buildings and market were really beautiful.

Poznan is generally a safe city. Of course, for example, guarded housing estates are safer than the city center on a Friday or Saturday evening, when you can meet group of drunk people, but this is probably also the case in other cities;)

In my opinion, Poznań is a very safe place. You can have fun in the city center and walk back to your home or hotel in the suburbs. Most places where you can drink alcohol at night have security and if someone persistently harasses you, you can report it to the staff. The police and site guards work well and do not ignore reports. In my opinion, you need to be most careful around the train station. This is probably the only place where you better pay attention to your luggage or bag. However, in the gallery next to the railway station, Avenida, it is safe. I have often walked alone at night in Cytadela Park or on the Warta River. Even when disturbing figures passed me, they wanted to be left alone, just like me. It seems to me that this place is so friendly to the residents that it is not worth it for them to steal or attack anyone.
