Solo travel

Katowice is a mix of old factories and new buildings. I liked visiting museums and listening to music there. The city center is small and easy to walk around. My time in Katowice was fun and relaxing.

Is Katowice safe for women?

It seems to me that the most dangerous place is in the center of Katowice after 10 p.m. Then there are a lot of drugged teenagers and drunk guys. I also don't like the area around the main train station because there are a lot of drunks. During the day it's okay. Despite the bad reputation, I consider the district of Katowice - Szopienice - safe.

Katowice and Poland overall is pretty safe. We don’t have a big problem with agression towards women like for example Spain. Generally it is safe in public transport Though I am still worried about walking somewhere at night (depends what area of the city).
