Tübingen is a student city so it's pretty safe at night. On the weekends there are a lot of people in the streets and in the clubs there is a lot of security (unless indicated otherwise in a review of a specific club). People here are really aware of women's safety and looking out for each other. If you are feeling unsafe and reaching out to a random person on the street for help, they will probably help you

Tübingen is a small city with a lot of young people, most of them students. I lived there for 4 years and never felt unsafe even at night. Next to the main station there are sometimes drunk people/men, making you feel uncomfortable, but most of the time you are surrounded by a lot of nice people.

I wouldn’t worry about safety too much! Just be a bit more careful during the night on weekends around clubs maybe. But I’d say with common sense you’re good to go. As in probably every city the area around the main station isn’t too nice.

It's very safe. Sometimes after dark I feel a bit uneasy as there are some drunk and some weird people, but not too much happening and I never actually had some problems, even though I walk and take the bike at any time of the night. Just keep an eye open!

Tübingen is a very cute, small, cozy, picturesque city near Stuttgart. Its atmosphere is strongly defined by the University of Tübingen, which draws in a lot of international students and leads to 1/3 of the city's population being students. Also, a lot of families with children and older people live here. In the warmer half of the year and on numerous events (regional markets, chocolate market, music and film festivals) a lot of tourists come to Tübingen. The city center is a very pretty old...

Tübingen is a little city where I feel safe. I come from a bigger city in France and compared to there I feel here like in a little bubble an safe place. But I still never walk home alone at night :)

About me

Hi I'm a grad student in my last year I love hosting international travellers to bring the world into my little small town. I highly recommend Tübingen for an authentic small town Germany experience with a beautiful mid-evel historic scenery and lots of young people. I live in a crazy coop house share situation which is super fun for curious people who want to make friends quickly. :)
