As a city in Germany it is as safe maybe more safe as Germany is in general. There is also as much crime going on as in other German cities. As a woman there is only safer spaces no safe space. Regensburg is is nothing special if it comes to crime.

Overall, it's very safe. I wouldn't go to the main train station at night unless absolutely necessary (there are people selling and taking drugs there). Watch out a bit when out partying—just general things like watching your drink. In the daytime, no worries at all.
Posted: December 25, 2024I would say Regensburg is an overall safe city. If you stay out of dark parks and the main station area, it isn‘t really dangerous. But if you‘re not located directly in the city centre I always recommend to get an uber back home!

If you stay on streets with light at night and stay away from dark and shady allys and parks you should be pretty safe. Even if i walk home alone at night i usually don't feel threatened. But its always better to walk up to girls who walk in the same direction. In my experience everyone here is down to help out, if you are not feeling comfortable.
Posted: December 24, 2024It’s a city of mainly students and young people. I feel like it‘s very safe in bars and clubs and guys there really just wanna flirt! It‘s different for when going outside in the dark, especially near the main train station! You meet a lot of creepy looking creatures there and I often experienced things like catcalling or harrasment! Still, there are safer options to get around like taking a bus or calling an uber (just never walk home alone in the dark then you should be really safe:))

I went to university in Regensburg and have several friends there. I’ve never really felt unsafe and I feel comfortable walking around alone at night. It is a college city with lots of bars, so sexual harassment by drunk people might occur, and there is one park near the train station that I would avoid walking in at night.

Generally I‘d say it’s very safe here. All kinds of people are to be seen at least in the city center and that‘s quite normal for everyone and no one is bothered by short clothing. However, I‘d advise every woman travelling alone in the dark to be as careful as everywhere else. During daylight I’ve never felt uneasy before.

Regensburg is a really small big city. The criminality is not that low for a German city, but me personally never happened to have sexuell harassment on the streets. But I'm also cautious. I ride with the bike in the night. Go the lighted ways.
Posted: July 13, 2024Regensburg is entitled a drug checkpoint and drug addicted people hang around the train station. But apart from that it's a small city where you can meet very nice people anywhere, you just have to look out for the wrong ones.
Posted: May 14, 2024It is very safe, even walking at night is not a problem. I have been living here for 25 years and I Never got anything Stolen. You can dress like you want , short skirt, tank top, bikini, it doesn‘t matter

Hey, my name is Luisa, I’m 18 years old and a med student in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. (Have to mention that I spent holidays and some weekends in my hometown also) I‘m really open to meeting new people and love to exchange cultures and languages! I‘m fluent in German (obviously) and English but I as well know some Spanish (able to keep up with not to complex conversation) and have very (very!) basic knowledge of French:) I‘ll probably be travelling in my summer break and maybe even do my obligatory internship abroad! Besides the „basic“ (sorry for the expression I absolutely abdore them) countries around Germany I spent 3 months in Argentina and 1 in Cuba:) Feel free to text me:))
