Is Potsdam Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Hi, went there by train! Had a student Ticket so ist was pretty cheap, would recommend the Deutschland Ticket (49 €/month of Public transport). It's a little annoying that you have to go to Berlin first to go to Potsdam. I went there and found cool artgroups and courses. People were open and I stayed at a friends place. I belive hotels and restaurants are quite pricey there. Keep in mind that there's a time in the night when it's not so easy to go back to Berlin as the busses and trains take...

Never felt unsafe in Potsdam, sometimes I am careful with being openly queer and leftist in some places, otherwise it's totally safe to walk around at night as a woman! Be careful with "date rape drugs" when you go partying!

Generally a pretty safe city. Yet there has been stories of stuff happening near the central station to solo female travellers at night. Never go there. But in general there's always enough people around who would help you in a situation of danger. Just stay away from the park and you should be fine.

Potsdam is a very safe city. You can walk there by nighttime. There are some places with maybe strange folks...the central station area ore sometimes the stern and schlaatzarea, where most of the poor poeple live. But there are no crime or drugareas.

Potsdam is a pretty safe city. Nearly everbody is friendly and open-hearted. I never made any other experiences. The „unsafest“ area could be the Potsdam Main Station by night but I think that’s not a big problem because we don’t have much homless (unfriendly!!!) people.

I would say that Potsdam is a very safe city. Of course, as a young girl you sometimes feel uncomfortable, but I still move around alone at night without fear. Sometimes you hear strange comments, but overall it's definitely okay.

Potsdam is pretty safe as I experienced it now for over 19 years. Of course it doesn’t mean no crimes happen here at all, but I haven’t been a victim of any. It’s not a city where you have to be concerned about your safety or your personal stuff all the time, also because it’s as Berlin or other cities where many tourists are.
