Just got back from Potsdam and it was a total vibe. Started at Sanssouci Palace — it’s like a real-life fairy tale, but with more fancy gardens and less magic. The wind had other plans for my hair, though. Then I checked out the Dutch Quarter, which felt like Amsterdam’s cuter cousin. Had some ridiculously strong coffee at a cozy café and just soaked it all in. Definitely a day well spent!
Posted: March 16, 2025Experienced: March, 2025Hi, went there by train! Had a student Ticket so ist was pretty cheap, would recommend the Deutschland Ticket (49 €/month of Public transport). It's a little annoying that you have to go to Berlin first to go to Potsdam. I went there and found cool artgroups and courses. People were open and I stayed at a friends place. I belive hotels and restaurants are quite pricey there. Keep in mind that there's a time in the night when it's not so easy to go back to Berlin as the busses and trains take breaks. Busses weren't as reliable-plan in extra time!

I would say that Potsdam is a very safe city. Of course, as a young girl you sometimes feel uncomfortable, but I still move around alone at night without fear. Sometimes you hear strange comments, but overall it's definitely okay.
Posted: June 2, 2025Potsdam is pretty safe as I experienced it now for over 19 years. Of course it doesn’t mean no crimes happen here at all, but I haven’t been a victim of any. It’s not a city where you have to be concerned about your safety or your personal stuff all the time, also because it’s as Berlin or other cities where many tourists are.

In my experience, Potsdam is a very safe city. I lived here all my life and never encountered any kind of crime. In most parts of the city, I feel really safe walking alone at night. Public transportation is available until the early morning hours and apart from a drunk person here and there, feels safe as well.

Nature and outdoor lover, who also enjoys cultural events🎶 I've been working for a regional tv station for three years, went on my first long solo trip in 2023/2024 - best decision:) - and started going to uni in 2024. I still go out on Mini advetures whenever I can 🌞 In my day to day life, you can most likely find me on my balcony with my plants, trying some new kind of sports, with my friends, reading something about permaculture and alternative livestyles or hiking🏔 (or at uni or work;))

Hey there! My name is Alexandra. I try to enjoy the little things as sitting in a café with a tasty piece of cake, reading a book and observe what is around me :) I started my Gestalttherapy Education this year and have a lot of free time between that to travel and to explore new places and get to know people and make new connections. I like to learn new things, to dance and to enjoy life :)

Hey, I'm Avani! I'm 25, originally from India, and have been living in Potsdam for the past two years. I love traveling, especially finding those hidden spots that don't show up on typical tourist lists. Big fan of easy-medium hikes (the kind where you can still breathe and chat), and trying out local restaurants and cafes. When I'm not out exploring, you'll find me reading, painting, or watching Formula 1 at a sports bar with fellow F1 fans. Always up for a new experience or a chill adventure. If there's good coffee or a pretty view involved, I'm in!
