Oldenburg is a really cute, safe and lovely student city and the safest place I ever lived at (I’m kinda commute from Bremen to Oldenburg and used to stay longer in multiple states of the US ), very recommended !

I have never experienced a situation, in which I felt uncomfortable. Once this changes, I will give an update. I feel safe walking alone at night and I would not be worried if a friend told me they leave the front door unlocked or even open. However, that is only my personal experience.

It’s a small city with a lot of students living there and a really nice atmosphere. This it is pretty safe for everyone, including women to travel to! Of course I’m always aware of my surroundings, but I walk my dog after dark every day and after partying I ride my bike back home without being worried :)
Posted: December 30, 2024Oldenburg is quite safe! Most of the streets have good lighting and there are also cabs especially for women! The people watch out for each other and a lot of pubs have a special awareness „concept“!

Oldenburg is a city with around 175,000 inhabitants I grew up there in the district, but all my friends live there and I have spent many days and nights there in recent years. I haven't heard of any attacks or rapes yet, but you have to be prepared to be approached by men from time to time. They shout at you or honk but it's like that in every city and it's sad but you can deal with it. I've never been touched and if someone gets too close there are always people nearby to help you :) I always felt very safe!
Posted: September 3, 2024It's pretty safe. I don't feel unsafe since it's mostly a Student city and it's great. The crime rate is very low and going out late at night isn't an issue for the most part. It's pretty chill, safe and small town

Oldenburg is a very safe city. I even go out alone at night without worrying. The only moments when you sometimes feel unsafe are when there are drunk people around.

Hi 💜 I’m new to the whole “travelling alone” game but very open for new experiences & adventures! I’m commuting from Oldenburg to Bremen so both of the cities could be a possibility for you to visit! I’m a spiritual philanthropist! I love nature, art, romanticising life and good food! You will never feel uncomfortable around me, cause I really don’t judge, I’m fully in peace with myself and fun to be around (always down for the goofy cringey stuff). I’m also a passionate photographer, so a full gallery & your Insta post is secured with me ;) I see beauty in the little things everywhere and I’m grateful for every travel-connection I’m able to make on this journey ✨ hit me up if you’re interested in a meet up, wanna stay at my place and let me show you northern Germany, or just want a language buddy! If you think I’m a good match for you, I would be also very happy to have the opportunity to stay at your place when I’m travelling ❣️
