It‘s a small city, almost like a village. And it‘s safe, I‘ve been living here for almost 2 years but I don‘t see bad news frequently. There is just harmonius old people and students, therefore no crimes really
Posted: April 17, 2025I feel like Marburg is quite safe compared to other cities. There aren’t as many people around and I have never had a bad or weird experience with a stranger here. From a political view Marburg is more left-wing which also goes along with people caring about women’s (or queer people’s) safety. Even at night public transport is very safe.
Posted: January 20, 2025the area around the main train station is a little sketchy at night, but everywhere else I feel really safe. considering it's a student city of course there are drunk people from time to time but they are mostly harmless.

Marburg is definitely very safe compared to other cities in Germany. There are many students and bars, so there’s almost always someone around. I wouldn’t recommend being alone at night anywhere, yet my friends told me that they walk home by themselves all the time or just use the bike. Marburg is very open minded and you can definitely ask groups of strangers if you can walk together
Posted: January 13, 2025Marburg is a beautiful town with great cafes and a beautiful city center called “Oberstadt”. All over the town you can find bikes to rent, which get you from one place to another quite quickly. The public transportation is very good

I am a student in Marburg, learning German before my Master degree. When I have time, I like to see new cities in Germany and around Europe. Usually I have time on weekends because weekdays I'm at Uni and then in library busy studying. I'm an ambivert so I tend to be really chatty at the right time with right companions. I like reading Sci-fi novels. My hobbies are drawing, claying, puzzling and most of the time reading. I love to take a stroll in new cities and lost myself occasionally. I am a curious person who has a big appetite about almost everything in our world. Like to meet new people and learn their perspective about different things.
