Lübeck (the next town to where I live) is pretty small and relaxed. People are normally very friendly here and not frowning at all, like its often portraied. And when the sun is out, everyone is outside and just enjoying life
Posted: July 14, 2025It's a small city and in the week when it gets dark in the main city you can't find many people out in the streets anyways. I had good experiences because I was even invited into a private bar when I was roaming the empty streets at 2 in the morning, in there were nice people and not even intoxicated people.
Posted: May 11, 2025Pretty safe if you don't go to the bad parts (outskirts) of the city. Honestly just try to stay near the city centre, in a rich neighbourhood or go to Travemünde, which is both very nice and safe. As in every bigger city, stay more alert when it's dark, but that's just a normal safety measure in every city

Very Safe Like other cities in northern germany. Some regions I would Not Like to walk during the night but you would Not visit there usually anyway. City centre feels good. Way safer than Hamburg or Berlin.
