A bit of all. But in general safe. The train station is noch the safest place but the city is completely normal and the people are friendly and open. There are some nice cafes and restaurants. And we have nice museums
Posted: January 22, 2025Krefeld has beautiful and safe areas but the city center has quite a bad reputation. The town has quite bad drug problems and there are quite a lot of addicts on the streets. Police is quite well present in the area near the main railway station. There is a lot of cat-calling in these areas but I have never felt very unsafe or been physically grabbed or anything like that.

As in every city, there are places to avoid in the evening or even during the day. Otherwise, it is as safe as most cities around here. I often go home late at night and have never had a situation where I was afraid.
