I have been living here for almost a year and no incidents to mention so far. I frequently walk home at night and I never felt not safe doing so. I also haven't witnessed any harassments in public so far.

There is one area you should avoid at night: „Am Stern“. Everything else is fine, if you go partying I would say it’s the „normal“ level of danger women experience in clubs/bars. But overall safe during the day for sure, during the night just the normal awareness.
Posted: March 15, 2025Kassel is a very chill city I feel save in most of the times. But it also depends on the district you are in. But Kassel is called the happiest city of germany and even if I don’t know if this is true the people here are friendly for Germans ;)
Posted: February 28, 2025I feel Kassel like being safe, I live next to the Hauptbahnhof and I come very often Home at 1.00 in the morning, and I never experienced something bad happening to me. Sure I don’t go to the Clubbing Area, but I never experienced something so bad. I had some Catcalling, but being an Italian, I am used to far worse behaviour and I say I mostly feel respected. The town has also introduced a system of Shuttels called “ Schaddel” you can call and there’s also a cheap Taxi called “Minicar” that gets you easily Home at night.
Posted: February 10, 2025Kassel is neither more nor less dangerous than any other big city in Germany. I would not recommend walking the streets alone at night but it might be dependent on the concrete area. My personal experiences are mostly limited to the Nordstadt (Nordholland) and the city centre (Hauptbahnhof, Königsplatz etc). Nothing serious ever happened to me there but the atmosphere can be quite frightening + better safe than sorry.
Posted: February 9, 2025Kassel is a safe place in general. But there are a lot of areas I would not want to walk alone at night.. Some streets and places are a lot more unsafe than others. The tourist areas are quite okay and the people are often very friendly.
Posted: December 28, 2024You should try not to walk alone at night in some areas ("am Stern" or at "Weserspitze"), but most of Kassel is safe, especially during the day. I already live here since a few years and there never happened anything bad to me.
Posted: December 27, 2024I think Kassel is a fairly safe city, although the city centre has become somewhat unsafe especially at night. I’ve never had anything happen to me though. During the day I would say it’s totally safe everywhere, just some areas would definitely be unsafer at night/when it’s dark
Posted: October 28, 2024there are many Arabic man in city centre, mostly because of that it's unsafety sometimes. also there are usually people who take drugs near Königsplatz, but they are non-aggressive, so just try to avoid walking near them In other areas, in principle, I consider it safe and quiet
Posted: August 12, 2024At the day time it’s pretty safe, at night you have to be careful but it’s not too bad. Also depends on which weekdays you’re out and in which district you are. Overall there’s no need to worry if you’re aware of your surroundings.

Hi, I’m Camilla. I work in theatre and I’m open to host some girl who needs a couch to drop on safely for one night in my town, I’m open to going out but also just to hang out and let you do you your thing. No pressure.
