relatively safe, given its not that small of a city. Lots of students and young people, quite clean. there sure are a few sketchy areas, as are in any other city, so I would not feel comfortable going there at night, but throughout the day it’s fine.

I used to live there for 8 months and it was okay. Like everywhere, sometimes people are high or helpless and the city don't seem to care about it. In specially in the south part of the city, this is the part where i feel less confortable. I'm white, queer looking woman. I don't recall being harassed. But i must say, i'm not a nightlife person so i can't tell about the streets in nightlife hot spots, but never heard anything

As a queer person, I've never experienced any assault, harassment or unsafe behavior in Karlsruhe. Not in public transportation or at night. All in all I'd say it's pretty safe. There are a few spots you should avoid at night tho, for example Oberreut or Werderplatz but the Train Central Station is very well lit and safe.
Posted: April 25, 2025Pretty save to be honest. I am living here since a child! Its good to live with kids, we have a lot of safety checks and police cars driving around. Theres many ppl here from all different ages- which makes me feel much more save!
Posted: April 10, 2025Karlsruhe is overall a very calm and safe city. Avoiding the south-west side area and what's closer to the main train station. People are overall very respectful and no big incidents to report from my side.
Posted: April 6, 2025I perceive Karlsruhe as a very safe city, especially when you are taking the bike everywhere like the locals do. There are a few playes that might seem a little, little bit sketchy (Europaplatz, Werderplatz), but the rest of the town neber gave me weird feelings regarding my safety.
Posted: April 2, 2025Karlsruhe is fairly safe, except for Oberreut (known for crime and right wing mindset) I don't know a friend whose house has been broken into or who has been robbed here. For the nightlife I can tell from.personal experience that most mainstream.clubs aren't safe, but the techno/gothic clubs are safe. (Gotec+Nachtwerk). The bars I've been to yet, are pretty okay, no unwanted touching. Overall, I've mostly experienced catcalling here, especially alone at night, but not more.

Karlsruhe is a very safe city. You can get anywhere very safely by train or bus. The trains often run at night here. The crime rate is low in Karlsruhe. The people are friendly and helpful. It's relatively quiet here.
Posted: January 4, 2025It is pretty safe if you know which areas to avoid at what times. I have had some problems like harassment, also sexual assault. I would not go out at night alone, especially to certain areas. Stay safe ladies

It is allover very safe! You can easily walk after dark at night, I would just keep your eyes open as always and public transport is also safe. I got harassed only once and two men were helping me get out the situation. So I can definitely say the people here watch out for each other.
