Is Hamburg Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

I felt most of the time safe. Around the trainstations in Hamburg it is not that safe. Especially at Hauptbahnhof. I liked the Bunker. There you can go up for free and have a beautiful view over the city. Additionally I was in "Naschcafé" which i can recommend. The food there is really good. Also "Falafelprinz" at Schanze. You can get there cheap Falafelwraps. If you like to go into a museum, you should try "Deichtorhallen" or "Kunst und Gewerbe". All in all, it was a really nice trip.

Discovering Hamburg for the first time. It is an atypical city, very interesting with several aspects. I really enjoyed walking along the river and taking the public boat that allows you to discover the city. The architecture of the city as well as its monuments and churches are magnificent. I recommend spending at least 2 days there and if you are lucky with beautiful sunshine. Concerning the food, you absolutely have to try a fish sandwich on the port. On the other hand, it is a city that can be dangerous for a girl alone. Especially the area next to the station.

Hamburg is safe, nice and beautiful! I loved to walk around in the summer evening without any problems or anyone bothering, the food is nice and there are many places to visit. My favorite places were the streets with Portuguese restaurants, specially the cafe Crystal, where I used to have my breakfast. I would definitely go again.

Hamburg is a beautiful city offering lots of cultural value. Beautiful churches are worth visiting. St. Michael's Church allows to see the city from above. Food is amazing as well as public transportation. I felt safe in Hamburg but I was not there till late

I have been to a solo travel to both berlin and Hamburg. From Gdansk in Poland, I took a flight to Hamburg Airport from there I took the train to the city hall it was easy and accessible however transport prices in Hamburg can be expensive comparing to other cities in Europe. I arrived to the city hall and it was AMAZING ! I loved everything about the city the buildings the landscapes, the river there , how good looking the people were, the food as well especially that they surve turkish food. I enjoyed my experience it was full of museums including the music museum which waa for free, u can also have a boat tour and sunbathe by the sea. I love Hamburg

Things to do: - Speicherstadt - Elbphilharmonie - Harbor - Planten un Blomen - Kunsthalle Safety: This is a fairly safe city, but apply normal precautions while traveling. Recommendations: Hamburg is worth a few days, great atmosphere and lots of things to do and see.

To do: - Walk down Eppendorfer Weg street - Tour the Television Tower - Relax in Stadtpark - Explore Planten un Blomen Security: I felt completely safe. Recommendations: Hamburg is a great place for drinking and partying.

I’ve been living here for 5 years and I feel very safe! I am always paying attention as I would anywhere in the world but I never faced any encounters. I do have friends that have been followed in the street or in the metro, late at night in the weekends. So like anywhere in the world as a woman we have risks and need to be aware, but in general I feel very safe.

Experience of a white cis women with an average/ sporty body: Overall - I feel quite safe in Hamburg compared to other cities and other countries. Depending on the district and daytime it varies. Always cautious around night time. I avoid some streets & parks but only when it’s dark. I always avoid some side streets around Reeperbahn and some along the river “Elbe”. Like everywhere else be careful around party areas no matter on the street or public transportation. (Harassment & robbery) I walk alone during night time and also take public transportation but am always scaning my surrounding. During the day I have never felt unsafe. I barely experienced harassment but don’t take it as representable. Some friends of me can unfortunately tell otherwise.
