Bonn is a very safe town. At the Main Station there is one area where a lot of homeless people and drum addicts hang around but the usually dont do anything if not provoked. Aside from this one Spot I have Neuer experienced any worry in my 3 years living here.
Posted: November 16, 2024Bonn is a safe city overall, it’s calm and quiet in most areas. However I think the Central Station area is where caution is needed unfortunately because sometimes I did have unpleasant encounters there… but overall nothing to worry about.

Bonn is a lovely place especially the Südstadt, the Rhein promenade and Poppelsdorf part of the city. The lighting are a bit weak sometimes tho. You can rent a bike everywhere and I feel safe on riding a bike
Posted: August 20, 2024Bonn is quite safe for a woman! It’s important to note that the area of the main train station is not so thrilling for women to hang out! So as long as one tries to stay away from it can be pretty safe. It’s better to be cautious about walking in Tannenbusch area as well. Be safe! 🌸

I feel completely safe in Bonn. There Are some areas e.g. The Main Station which can be a bit scary at night but I always walk there alone and nothing Happend to me so far. You don‘t Need to be worried.
Posted: July 23, 2024It is nice area! Lots of people from all over, nice biking trails, cafes. I recommend it! I don’t feel unsafe walking around town too. At night time, I feel it’s a lot of people around so I feel safe!
Posted: July 7, 2024Expect one or two neighbourhoods, Bonn is really safe. You can walk in the dark at late hours without being scared of anything. The main train or tram or u bahn stations are always filled with police men even in late hours. Walking through the city and the areas around is super nice and safe as well

It’s fine mostly. Being a coloured women sometimes I face discrimination. But largely it’s safe and connectedness. It’s likely that you have less struggle if you can speak German. I live in outskirts which is nicer. That’s all!
Posted: June 5, 2024Public spaces in Bonn city are generally safe even at night. Some areas as Tannenbusch or Kurpark in Bad Godesberg may be less recommended to walk alone at night. You should also be attentive around Stadthaus/Maxstraße, while neighbouring Breite Straße is safe.
Posted: April 22, 2024In my opinion, Bonn is a pretty safe city. However, the central station is best avoided at night if you’re alone. I’ve also been sexually harrassed on the bus before (although I reported it to the police who were very understanding and helpful), but overall, I think Bonn does well in comparison with other cities.
