Honestly it really depends on where you’re staying in Bonn. I usually wouldn’t recommend to go to Godesberg at the evenings since there seem to be men always lurking around the corner and they just stare at you. Overall I would say Bonn is a safe place to stay but Godesberg is a part of it that I would not like to recommend.

Bonn is a City with a moderately high Crime scene. Some districts and public transportations can be uncomfortable especially in Summer when dressed less modestly. However me personally I don’t Care about being catcalled etc, which really Happens a Lot, still bring mindful when walking around the City is Important and don’t make eyecontact with those Kinds of men. Other than that, in Bonn is a big drug problem with a Lot of addicts, which I can Imagine to be shocking at First. They are loud but usually not violent, or at least I have not experienced violence. Some districts in Bonn are notorious for being criminal but its unlikely you will go there. All in all there are definetly Thinge to be careful about, but in the end I have been walking around the City at night and alone and nothing ever happened, so it is definetely manageable.
Posted: April 20, 2025It’s technically pretty safe. There is not much crime I believe and getting mugged/robbed is fairly unlikely. The biggest problem are the drunk people both on the public transport and in the streets. Being alone as a woman in the central bus station is not the best experience

Bonn is safe overall if you don’t surround yourself in the dangerous areas, which is easily makeable. There are a few known spots for homeless people or dealers, they won’t do anything if you just ignore them
Posted: February 24, 2025Bonn is a small city and very safe. The only area you shouldn't walk around alone at night is Tannenbusch. Because of the University there are many Students, who live there. So if you walking around Bonn you'll always meet other jung people.

Bonn is a pretty conservative Town with beautiful old building and lots of small shops. the only place sketchy is the main station the rest is very safe. Where I live its very safe no need to worry at all.
