Berlin is an amazing city with lots to do and see! I was only there for a short time so I did not get to cover everything and plan to go back eventually because of that! I felt safe walking even by myself as a woman, and the food there is amazing.
Posted: June 10, 2025I recommend visiting Berlin as it is one major capital in Europe with many things to do. I stayed there for four months as an intern in a design studio and I found the city quite safe with welcoming people. Coming from Paris, the everyday life is cheaper with good restaurants (lot of vegan options!) and free museums for -26 from eu. As an art passionate, I did spend a lot of my free time visiting the numerous contemporary art venues and galleries in the city.

My experience is always safe and very inspiring. The people living there are very good and helpful. I loved to go to Tempelofher Feld park The transports are very easy. And you can have a coffee in great coffee shop on a good condition!
Posted: June 3, 2025Berlin has been wild in the best way. It’s a city where every neighborhood feels like its own little world — from the artsy chaos of Kreuzberg to the quiet charm of Prenzlauer Berg. I love how laid-back people are here, and how you can wear anything, be anyone, and no one bats an eye. Public transport is super convenient (and a bit chaotic during delays), and it’s been easy to get around even without speaking perfect German. Living here as a student isn’t exactly cheap — groceries and transport add up — but there are always free events, museums with student discounts, and parks full of life. I’ve felt safe walking around, even at night, especially in busy areas. Like any big city, you just keep your bag close and stay aware. The best part? The feeling that something interesting is always happening, just around the corner.

I went there for a concert and overall the city was quiet nice and I definitely felt really safe, especially through the day, but even in the later hours I still felt safe while going back to my hotel
Posted: May 12, 2025*Quite safe *Recommend traveling on weekends, many cute art and antiques markets! *I lived near Zoo station, the alley was stinky… *The Supermarket under the bridge is cheap, but my mother encountered a wanderer (he was eating the food on the cabinet without paying, not attacking but a little bit scary) *There’s a small Strawberry shop outside the Bahnhof Südkreuz, very fresh and cheap! *Also recommend the parks near Südkreuz, less people and great view

I think Berlin is a very safe city if you travel consciously. The public transport can be unusual and gross and maybe there are weird people sometimes but if you are aware of your surroundings you will be alright. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t inappropriate comment or stupid, drunk men but if you are in the center of Berlin there will be lots of people around that you can also approach if you feel unsafe. If you are Queer and it is visible, be careful when visiting outside districts such as Köpenick, Marzahn-Hellersdorf, Weissensee, Reinickendorf etc. It isn’t usually dangerous, in my opinion, but there are more right wing people living there that won’t shy away from making a homophobic comment or trying to scare you. Stay safe!!
Posted: June 11, 2025Berlin looks safe but honestly there are a lot of unhinged and crazy people on the streets. You have to be hyper aware of your surroundings here. It’s safer than many cities if its size but that can be deceptive. People often get stuff stolen here also, and our building has been burgled twice.
