I travelled to Tours with my daughter. We stayed 5 days in an Airbnb not too far from the centre. We found public transport affordable and safe. We found the city has a relaxed atmosphere and people were very happy to help as much as they could. A lot of people are happy to speak English if needed.

Tours is a small city with lots of very friendly people. Most people are helpful when needed but otherwise keep to themselves. I’ve never had any issues with safety. I live in the city centre not far from the bar/nightclub area.
Posted: August 28, 2025It's a relatively safe city in general but I already heard about aggression here and I also experienced catcall and verbal sexual harrasment at night in the most frequent places to hangout. It happens to be followed by strangers who wants your number too

it's a medium-sized city with many students and family neighborhoods where it's nice to live. There are several cozy parks, streets with restaurants, and a square with bars, quite busy in the evenings.

Tours is a great city with a very active nightlife, there's a party every night here, life here is pleasant with a market and flea markets very regularly, it's a student city so in my opinion, the city is quite young, the old Tours is where the party lives as well as the restaurants, cafes... So if you want to have fun and have a good time, welcome to Tours.

Tours is a fairly quiet city. In the evening the city center is lively (sometimes with drunk people, but I never had any problems). In the city center I advise you not to go under the Wilson Bridge (drugs). To go out you have Place Plumereau and the surrounding streets. For more calm I recommend rue Colbert or Les Halles.
