I travelled to Tours with my daughter. We stayed 5 days in an Airbnb not too far from the centre. We found public transport affordable and safe. We found the city has a relaxed atmosphere and people were very happy to help as much as they could. A lot of people are happy to speak English if needed.

Tours is pretty safe, though I usually travel by bike to avoid getting caught in a situation at night. I’d still recommend to take the public transports with another person at night, else it’s all great
Posted: March 2, 2026Overall the city is very safe. But like every European cities, some places/neighborhoods aren’t great to visit at night alone. For example : Place Plum is fine during the day you can take a coffee alone. But a night I would recommend going with friends. But it’s a really nice place to party !
Posted: February 12, 2026Tours is a small city with lots of very friendly people. Most people are helpful when needed but otherwise keep to themselves. I’ve never had any issues with safety. I live in the city centre not far from the bar/nightclub area.
