Toulouse is a very safe place, a city with a predominantly young and active population. There are also good restaurants and cafés. The pink color of the city's buildings provides a very pleasant atmosphere.

Toulouse is a small and beautiful city, if you like visiting churches and walking you will love it, I felt safe at all times and it is easy to use the metro, especially with the 3-day pass, fortunately I stayed the night with a friend so I don't know How expensive is the accommodation :(
Posted: February 2, 2025Experienced: October, 2024Easy to travel, safe at night, lots of vintage and an tique markets, beautiful city. Better to travel there during the fall since the city is so hot during the summer! The Botanical garden at Museum de Toulouse is a must.

It was a trip not very far from home, from the south of Spain, but it was one of my first solo trips. I didn't have much of a budget, so I chose Toulouse because I found a very cheap flight. The city in general seems safe to me, although I had some alarming experiences on the outskirts; a man followed me for a long time and it was hard to dissuade him. I would avoid the periphery if you don't know someone from the area, but in the center, I never had any problems. If you travel alone, you'll surely find another traveler in the same situation on the river steps watching the sunset.
Posted: July 29, 2024It is a beautiful city with plenty to see and do. Felt safe during the day and at night. Walks along the canal du midi and the narrow streets in the town. The metro is easy to get around in. Stayed in hotel in Jean Juras .

There are some neighborhoods you need to avoid at night : le Miral, Bagatelle, la Farouette, la Reynerie, Bellefontaine, Fontaine Lestang (most of the stations of the line A of the Subway between Arenes and Basso Combo)
Posted: March 1, 2025Toulouse is a young city, filled with students. The structure of the city lents itself to feeling safe as it is beautiful and people do check on each other. Generally there's no crime but pocket thieves exist like in any bigger city. The most dangerous thing that happened to me was almost getting trampled over by a horde of army police officers at the biggest festival in France "fête de la musique" they just popped out of the gate without checking left or right.
