Traveling solo through Strasbourg on a low budget was an amazing experience! I felt super safe, even at night, which made exploring the city so much more enjoyable. The Strasbourg Cathedral is an absolute must-see—the details are incredible! Unfortunately, I didn’t make it up to the viewing platform, but even from the ground, it’s stunning. The city is full of cute little streets that are perfect for wandering, with charming cafés and half-timbered houses everywhere. Definitely a great destination for solo travelers!
Posted: February 1, 2025Experienced: December, 2024I visited Strasbourg around the Christmas time- which is, if you are familiar, the fullest and most beautiful version of the city. It was really crowded, but the city itself is so beautiful and there were too much to see so it didn’t cause any problems. The Christmas market was awesome, everything tasted so good! Overall the spirit and vibe of Strasbourg created a magical environment. I was there with 3 of my friends but I believe a solo trip should also be as good. Have fun!☺️

Strasbourg was a pleasant city to visit. I had to go to the currency exchange and was traveling with a significant amount of cash. I wasn't interrupted or bothered by anybody, and although I used my regular precautionary measures I felt safe. Food was great, it was off season but still quite a busy downtown/historical places. Good mix of crowds, delicious brunch at Madame Julia's.

Just be careful while taking the tramways, hide your smartphones. Don't pay attention to the people asking you to sign a petition. Otherwise the city is rather safe. The cities outside of Strasbourg are also safe (and worthy of your visit)
Posted: July 11, 2025The city center is rather safe in general to walk in and discover solo, including at night. But as anywhere else, there are some neighbourhoods (such as Elsau, Neuhof, Hautepierre...) which are better to avoid even for locals. Those neighbourhoods though are not touristic areas.
