It all depends on where you're staying. The historical center is completely safe apart from some drunkards late at night, because there's always a lot of activity. The outskirts (outer neighbourhoods and cities) are not as safe due to fewer activity at night but nothing ever happened to me except for some catcalling. You should however avoid Les Hauts de Rouen because it is one if not the most sensitive area of Rouen. During the day, you're fine basically everywhere. Nothing happened to me in the bus during the day but there have been reports of harassment in the teor (especially the t3); be aware of your surroundings but don't put that much thought into it, it is as safe as any other bus in the world.

I feel safe here. In some streets during the night I don't feel comfortable but during the day I fell very free. I always lock my door and my bike though. There is some pick pocketing and bike robbery going on. But as a woman I feel good and free when I move around in the city and the surroundings.
Posted: February 10, 2025I am a student, so when I go out, it's often late at night for parties. I've heard some women from my school speak out about sexist and sexual violence at parties, even rapes, and some men have been beaten up at night when going out. But during the day, it's really great
Posted: February 10, 2025As a girl, i don’t feel safe at night but this is not because of the Town but in general Overall i don’t have experiment really bad things personnaly Public transports are great and it’s really a good spot if you want to exit from Paris because it’s not far and it’s also a really good spot to transit for a day if after people want to go to landing beach on the coast
Posted: January 19, 2025I’d advise you to visit Rouen !! It’s pretty much safe, some neighbourhoods being safer than other ones (e.g Centre ville which is safe but St Sever is risky at night). The transports are relatively intuitive and safe to take

The city is divided by the river ‘ la Seine’ the left bank is not a suitable place for a women. During the day the only thing to do there is the bus station and the mall . On the right bank, streets are safe until the closing of the bars around 11pm on the week and 1am on the weekends .
Posted: May 6, 2024Rouen is a cute town in Normandy . Perfect for history lovers full with museums and great art gallery. It’s quite safe you can walk alone at night but not around the train station which can be a bit shady at night.

Rouen is so beautiful. If you love architecture and art, you’re in luck because this little city houses more than 5 gorgeous cathedrals in it, each one more breathtaking than the other. On the door of each church/cathedral there’s an agenda showing all the programs going on in different churches during the week. So make sure you go visit each church when they open it for service. Because not all the churches are touristic attractions. There is a ceramic museum with free entry, so if you’re into arts, you’re gonna love that as well. The food is a bit pricy in the city and in little cafes. But if you spend some time, you’ll find delicious food with reasonable price as well. I was able to find this Turkish kebab place with a vegan wrap that was super flavorful and about €5! There’s so many bakeries of course, but there is this one bakery called Leon and it has the best cappuccino ever! I’d go back just for that cappuccino alone! In total, this town has so much to offer and I would love to go back. Oh one last thing, people were super amazing and friendly!

I only travel alone so I can meet new people and my favourite activities while traveling are waking up at 5am or earlier and hiking all day long ‼️ I can't offer a room to stay but I'm your go-to person if you're into hiking (my cardio begs to differ but a strong will is enough to climb mountains) or discovering historical places I also love to party but only with earplugs in protect your cochlear ladies 🙏🏻🙏🏻
