City of wealthy people and students, so it's generally safe; just be a bit cautious at night in certain areas and clubs. Otherwise, during the day, there's not much going on; the people are just bitter and French.
Posted: January 16, 2025La Rochelle is a small town by the sea, where life is good ! ☀️ I never felt unsafe, the locals are nice. The city is very beautiful architecturally and there are plenty of things to visit. A small, lively town with many bars and restaurants.

I think La Rochelle is a very safe city. It is a touristic town on the French coast. People like to enjoy the sun and the view while having a drink. The atmosphere is pretty chill. Just be careful of your bike at night.

Hi! I grew up in Abu Dhabi and now study Marine Biotechnology with Erasmus Mundus which entails travelling to different countries for study. Currently on summer break and doing some travelling. I find joy in challenging myself and trying new things. I'd be very grateful if you host me and would be more than happy to host you when I'm back in Abu Dhabi.
