Annecy is a pretty city where you can quickly find yourself in the heart of nature with many hikes and the lake in the middle of the city, It feels safe, I have never been afraid to walk alone at night In the summer there are a lot of people but you can rent a bike and go away from the center

Group travel

My friends and I rented a car and went to Annecy for a day. It was a great trip, it was inexpensive, had a great vibe, and the city was very beautiful. We swam in the lake, were on the beach, and the atmosphere was very safe. Our entire day trip with a rental car cost us about 30-40 euros.

It’s a city with a lot of rich people, globally they are chill. When it’s the night except place like the train station or place like the shopping center, the city is quiet and there are bikes to get around so it’s fast and safe to get home

It is very safe, I have walked several times home at like 3 or 4 am completely wasted and I only had funny encounters. Obviously be carefull around the bars and nightclub but overall it is a safe environment.

Beautiful city, The size is middle small, Everything can be made by walking of cycling, Is a super High quality level of leaving Everything has been made for tourism. You can find all the different sports of the montains

Some areas to avoid in the evening like the train station but I'm living here alone for 2 years and I have never been afraid of something. I am used to walking alone, running by the lake or in the nearby mountains at all hours. I use public transport daily. I have never felt so serene living alone in a city.

Annecy and the area are one of the safest places in France I will say. I have lived here since I was 10 years old, did my studies, had a little student apartment and did a lot of activities here and it never happened something malicious or dangerous. Of course you have to be careful, like everywhere, but really is a peaceful city and environment. Majority of the people here are old, sporty, tourist or come form Swiss. So it a rich city (kinda expensive, equivalent to Paris), not to worry about your stuff being stolen. I will recommend you to go visit Annecy when the summer so you can enjoy the lake and mountains better. Do not hesitate to chat with me if you plan to visit there or other cities in France !
