Bursa has different parts which have different safety levels. But mostly the center is a place that you need to be aware of your belongings also, I don't recommend to walk alone at night. You won't get kidnapped but you may have an unsettling experience

Bursa is generally a safe and welcoming city for travelers. Like in any urban area, it’s good to stay aware of your surroundings, especially at night or in very crowded areas. Most neighborhoods are calm, and locals are friendly and helpful. As a woman traveler, I’ve felt comfortable exploring the city, using public transportation, and enjoying its beautiful nature, historical sites, and delicious food.

Unfortunately Turkey is not safe anymore. Since criminals are not punished by the government, everyone feels comfortable committing crimes. So Bursa has same safety level as all Turkey cities. It's kinda better from Istanbul tho
Posted: April 15, 2025Bursa is generally a safe city. But you should still be careful depending on which neighborhood and the time. Public transportation has options. The last train from the first stations are at 12 am, but some buses are available after that time till the morning.
Posted: February 24, 2025My neighbourhood is pretty much very friendly and safe so i usually don’t have any issue using transportation at night but if you’re traveling the main area you should be on the alert. Anything can happen anywhere so you should always be careful.

Last year, I visited Bursa, Tophane Meydanı. It’s a historical place in the center of Bursa. It was an incredible experience. The food, the view, and the people were amazing. I really enjoyed everything.

I enjoy exploring cities on foot, trying local food, watching documentaries, and having spontaneous chats with locals. I also believe in supporting women-led initiatives and staying safe and aware while traveling. If you’re looking for a travel buddy who’s thoughtful, curious, and always up for a new adventure (or just a cozy cafe chat!), feel free to reach out.
