İstanbul is a safe country. This is happens in most countries probably, I'm not feeling safe at nights. But in the morning I'm not disturbed from men or women so I can say most of the districts are safe.
Posted: June 20, 2025Firstly, I have been living here for a long time so i used to live here and the culture of the district but i think some streets are so bad and some of them are kinda okay. I didn't live that much bad experiences but for foreigners i am not sure. To be honest, I don't recommend the district to stay or live for foreigners because it would be kinda bad for alone girl travelers. Maybe the streets which are close to the transportation area could be recommended.

Istanbul is a big city, there’s places u should stay away like Esenler, Bağcılar, Ümraniye and Fatih. I can’t say there’s always dangerous but after night it’s totally more dangerous to visit. Of course it can depends but I wouldn’t travel there if I was solo.
Posted: June 17, 2025Depending on the neighbourhood you are in, it can be the safest or the most dangerous place. Zones around the central İstanbul tend to be safe. Avoid Tarlabaşı and Kuştepe (I don’t think you’d have those in your list as a tourist, but still). Some men can ask you to go climb Galata tower together in Taksim. Disgusting. I’d advise avoiding side streets after dark and traveling low.
Posted: June 14, 2025People can look at you if they realize that you are a foreigner but, that is mostly because almost no tourist visit our town. They are just curious. Just smile and keep walking. It is a kinda traditional city, so do not wear too much revealing clothes, it might backfire.. :)

Sakarya is a mid-sized city located in the northwestern part of Türkiye. I’ve been living here for three years. It’s a peaceful place with a mix of natural beauty and growing urban life. It’s good city for hiking.
